Low Resonance Enclosure Design
eliminate unwanted resonanceYamaha’s HS series cabinets have been carefully designed to remove undesirable resonance and further the accuracy of sound reproduction to the very limit. The HS7 enclosure has been expertly constructed from dense MDF with a dampened acoustic response.
The engineers behind the HS series also utilised a classic three-way mitred-joint technique. Commonplace in architectural design, this construction method ensures all corners of the enclosure feature improved durability and limit unwanted resonance.
Noise Reduction TechnologySpeaker port placement and design is integral to the overall sound. Quite often a vortex at either port is responsible for creating air vibrations inside of the port which results in unwanted noise.
Through adopting a noise reduction technology which utilises an analysis of a visual representation of the sound, the engineers behind the HS series were able to control and reduce this vortex. Analysis shows that this reduces noise up to an impressive 6dB.
