Keyboards

Keyboards are a vital peripheral for PC users, and regardless of your budget it's important to pick the right one. The most important consideration is what sort of feel you want. For instance, most cheaper keyboards use dome switches mounted on top of a membrane, giving very little tactile feedback. Therefore, touch typists and gamers may want to consider choosing a keyboard with mechanical switches as these provide much greater tactile feedback. Mechanical switches are available in different grades, denoted by a colour - black, brown and blue for instances and each has its own set of characteristics.

Once you’ve chosen the switch type, there is a huge variety of colours and styles, including backlit and RGB-illuminated keyboards. Alongside these are specialist keyboards for professional workstations, which are optimised for specific applications, such as video or music editing.
