Headphones / Headsets

Headphones (just speakers) and headsets (with added microphone) are a great alternative to speakers for gaming, listening to music and office phone/video calls. They can connect via a 3.5mm analogue minijack, wired or wireless USB or by wireless Bluetooth.

Headphones and headsets are usually aimed at specific uses - either gaming, music or office communication. Their respective features are based on the main requirements of each scenario - immersive experience and built-in microphone, audiophile level amplification or noise cancelling microphone for busy office environments.

Wired Gaming Headsets

A gaming headsets is a must have item for every gamer, not only as an alternative to speakers for late night gaming sessions, but also the built in microphone enables you to coordinate with teammates or taunt enemies online. Not only that, but most headphones provide better positonal order than speakers, so you're better able to judge if somebody is on your own left or right.

Wired gaming heasets connect to your PC using either an analogue 3.5mm minijack or USB cable. This means that unlike a wireless gaming headset you don't need to worry about the batteries running out at an inopportune moment, but you are tethered to your PC.
