Tsakalis - 'Ocean' - Reverb Pedal

Tape & Analogue delayIntroducing the 'Ocean' from Tsikalis, a studio quality Reverb pedal, handmade in Athens, Greece.
The Ocean is a fantastic and versatile Reverb pedal, designed to create studio quality classic and ambient reverb textures in a compact size, and also with a simple to control interface. The Ocean offers 3 varying states of Reverb, from classic ‘spring’ types, to ‘ambient hall’ and a ‘symphonic shimmer’.
Waves of Gorgeous Reverb

Studio quality reverb
The type of reverb is selected via a small toggle switch nestled in between the 4 knobs, the placement of the switch here is appreciated as due it's placement, it'd be nigh on impossible to knock it accidentally with your foot on stage.
A great deal of control is on offer here, use the ‘Mix’ control to go from completely dry to a 100% wet signal, it should be noted that with the Mix knob all the way up this opens up for some wonderful volume swells, cutting out the need for a volume pedal or having to do it manually via the guitars pots.
The ‘Storm’ control is an interesting addition which acts as a special control whereby dependent on the type of reverb selected, adds characteristics of that particular reverb. For example, when the Ocean is in 'Hall' mode, tweaking the 'Storm' knob will control the dampening of the effect.
Controlling The Ocean

Diffuse
Hall Mode: - Mimics the material of the room’s walls. Zero for glass on which sound waves would bounce, and full
for a less reflective material which would diffuse the effect.
Shimmer Mode: - As above. Mimics the material of the room’s walls. Zero for glass on which sound waves would bounce and full
for a less reflective material which would diffuse the efect.
Spring Mode: - Adjust the tone of the reverb efect. Turn clockwise to lower the threshold of higher frequencies in the
wet signal.

Storm
Hall Mode: - Controls the damping of the efect.
Shimmer Mode: - Adjust the level of pads and overtones which create the Shimmer efect. Turn clockwise to increase the
magic.
Spring Mode: - Adjust the level of “spring” efect in your sound. Set to zero for almost no spring action and turn
clockwise to increase the spring vibration efect as your signal makes its way through the tank.

Size
Hall Mode: - Determines the size of the room where the efect is produced. Zero for a small room (almost no reverb)
and full for endless long trails and echo.
Shimmer Mode: - As above. Determines the size of the room where the efect is produced. Zero for a small room (almost no reverb)
and full for endless long trails and echo.
Spring Mode: - Determine the size of the reverb tank as well as the number of springs. Turn clockwise for a bigger tank
and longer tail.

Mix The 'Mix' knob determines the level of dry/wet signal. Fully to the left, 100% dry, all the way to the right would be a 100% wet signal.

Reverb Type
This 3 way toggle switch selects the type of Reverb.
Hall Mode: - An echo similar to that of a small room, right through to a long 'haunted' corridor type reverb.
Shimmer Mode: - From classic hall reverb to symphonic – almost infnite reverb with pads and overtones.
Spring Mode: - Classic vintage spring reverb similar to that of an actual spring reverb tank. From very short and
‘small sized room’ effect, to vintage ‘surf’ and all the way to glorious splash and ‘boingy’ spring reverb.
