External InputsThe DR-40XP is equipped with XLR/TRS combo jacks that support 48 V or 24 V phantom power for external condenser or dynamic microphones. When set to line level, these inputs accept signals from a mixing desk or other source with levels up to +24 dBu. These two inputs can be used in parallel with the built-in microphones to create a 4-track recording.
