Takamine - GD93CE - Dreadnought Electro/Acoustic Guitar

Takamine: a legacy of amazing quality, sound, and playabilityFor over half a century, Takamine have been working closely with musicians across the globe in their quest to build guitars that not only look and sound great, but that also feel great in the players hands. It’s thanks to this hard work and close-working relationship with artists that Takamine are able to produce such beautiful and well-crafted instruments such as the GD93CE from the ‘G-Series’.
The GD93CE is a dreadnought electro/acoustic guitar, whilst small in stature compared to most other dreadnoughts, there’s heaps of rewards to be had with the GD93CE’s bold, room filling sound, head-turning good looks and smooth, fluid playability.
Upon picking this guitar up, you’ll soon notice the mahogany neck sits comfortably in the fretting hand and feels smooth and allows for unhindered fast movement up and down the neck, whilst the cutaway allows for superb upper-fret access. Strum a few open chords and you’ll soon see the GD93CE has a big, powerful voice, full of richness resonating from the cutaway dreadnought style body and scalloped X-braced solid spruce top.
Stunning Maple Body

incredible playability Takamine’s GD93CE is built from carefully chosen tonewoods and is a clear representation of Takamine’s dedication and meticulous attention to detail. The combination of a scalloped X-braced solid spruce top, gorgeous black walnut sides, and black walnut/quilt maple back deliver not only show-stopping good looks, but show-stopping tone.
Huge Scope to Shape your Tone

TK-40D PREAMP
Takamine included the TK-40D preamp on the GD93CE. A professional-grade preamp for a professional-grade guitar, the TK-40D offers a built-in tuner, 3-band EQ and gain control, mid-contour switch, notch filter, EQ bypass switch and a low battery indicator. The latter may seem a small inclusion, but is invaluable when on-stage to alleviate any worries about your preamp cutting out mid-set due to a low battery!
Such expansive controls on this preamp allows for huge versatility in terms of tone and makes the GD93CE one of the most versatile guitars in Takamine’s ‘GD’ series. Should you wish to disable the preamp, the preamp is switched off by simply unplugging the instrument cable from the jack input/strap pin jack.
Visually-Striking Components

show-stopping looks
The GD93CE is a stunning guitar to look at, there can be no qualms about that. From the headstock to the bottom strap-pin, this guitar is adorned in gorgeous hardware.
Perhaps the most striking is the black machineheads matched with gold tuning posts, which really do bring a touch of class and elegance to this visually-striking guitar and offer rock-solid tuning stability and react sensitively to even the most minute of adjustments..
A special mention must go to the beautiful binding which surrounds the GD93CE's headstock and neck, this really does give the GD93CE the look and feel of a truly prestigious guitar
Two-Piece Saddle System

SUPERIOR INTONATION
The GD93CE’s saddle is a unique two-piece system made from ‘Synthetic bone’. This works by splitting the saddles into two separate pieces, one piece to look after strings 3-6, and another piece for strings 1-2. Both pieces are set at unique angles, to give the benefit of better intonation.
This is particularly evident if you are to try playing chords higher up the neck, they’ll sound just as clean and as in tune as if you were to play chords lower down the neck.
