Product Overview

Noctua NH-D15 Dual Radiator Quiet CPU Cooler with Two NH-A15 Fans

Built on the basis of the legendary NH-D14 and carrying on its quest for ultimate quiet cooling performance, Noctua's flagship model NH-D15 is an elite-class dual tower cooler for the highest demands. Its expanded heatpipe layout and two premium grade NF-A15 140mm fans with PWM support for automatic speed control allow it to further improve the NH-D14's award-winning efficiency. Topped off with the trusted, pro-grade SecuFirm2 multi-socket mounting system, Noctua's proven NT-H1 thermal compound and full six years manufacturer's warranty, the NH-D15 forms a complete premium quality solution that represents a deluxe choice for overclockers and silent-enthusiasts alike.

Based on the Award-Winning NH-D14

Noctua's NH-D14 has received more than 350 awards and recommendations from leading international hardware websites and magazines, making it one of the most successful premium heatsinks ever built. With its expanded layout and dual NF-A15 fans, the NH-D15 further improves the D14's much acclaimed quiet cooling performance.

Six Heatpipe Dual Tower Design

As compared to conventional single tower heatsinks, the NH-D15's fine-tuned six heatpipe dual tower design provides more surface area, better heat-distribution and superior airflow efficiency in dual fan mode.

Widened Fin Stack and Expanded Heatpipe Layout

Compared to the NH-D14, the NH-D15's fin-stack has been widened from 140 to 150mm and its heatpipes are now spaced further apart, which allows for a more uniform heat distribution over a larger surface area and thus contributes to the NH-D15's superior efficiency.

High RAM Compatibility in Single Fan Mode

Thanks to its recessed lower fins, the NH-D15 provides 64mm clearance for tall memory heatsinks in single fan mode, making it compatible with most high end RAM modules on the market. In dual fan mode, the NH-D15 should be used with standard height RAM (up to 32mm). Please note: In chassis with more than 165mm CPU cooler clearance, the front fan can be moved upwards to make room for memory modules taller than 32mm.

Dual NF-A15 140mm Fans

The NH-D15 features two of Noctua's premium class NF-A15 140mm fans. Complying with Noctua's AAO standard and featuring sophisticated aerodynamic design measures such as Flow Acceleration Channels, the NF-A15 has quickly built up a reputation as one of the best 140mm fans on the market.

PWM Support and Low-Noise Adaptor

The NF-A15 premium fans supplied with the NH-D15 support PWM for convenient automatic speed control through the mainboard. In addition, the maximum fan speed can be reduced from 1500 to 1200rpm using the supplied Low-Noise Adaptor for even quieter operation.

Excellent Component Cooling

Extending below the fin-stacks, the large NF-A15 fans not only contribute to the NH-D15's superb CPU cooling capabilities but also provide massive airflow over surrounding motherboard components and heatsinks, thus ensuring excellent component cooling performance.

SecuFirm2 Mounting System

Noctua's SecuFirm2 mounting systems have become synonymous with quality, safety and ease of use. Supporting Intel LGA115x (LGA1150, LGA1151, LGA1155, LGA1156), LGA2011 and AMD (AM3(+), AM2(+), FM1, FM2(+)), the SecuFirm2 mounting included with the NH-D15 guarantees perfect contact pressure and maximum convenience on all current sockets.

Compatibility with Past and Future Sockets

Complying with the open SecuFirm standard, the NH-D15 can be made compatible with the older LGA1366 and LGA775 sockets using the optional NM-I3 mounting kit, which is provided by Noctua free of charge. If technically possible, Noctua will also provide upgrade kits for future sockets.

NT-H1 Thermal Compound

Having received more than 100 awards and recommendations from hardware journalists around the world, Noctua's NT-H1 is a proven professional grade TIM solution that provides minimum thermal resistance, excellent ease of use and outstanding reliability.

Intel’s been on a mission of late. That mission revolves around grouping and standardising key technologies under various banners that are designed to ensure hardware compatibility and consumer ease of use. We’ll take a closer look at three such technologies that fall under the headings of Centrino, Viiv, and vPro, respectively.

The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke.

Noctua NH-D15 Dual Radiator Quiet CPU Cooler with two NH-A15 Fans is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality air cooling It's keeping my ryzen 5 3600 under 80°C in prime and aida tests, under 75°C at 50% rpm in gaming, davinci and photoshop 20+ layers. Pretty much dreamy, because it allows silence in my case. Water is still too noisy for me, with minimum gains in cooling. This is it. Nothing else beats it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very effective and easy to install on AMD I'm very impressed with this cooler. I recently installed a Ryzen 9 3900X, and found that with certain tasks it was overheating on the stock cooler (Wraith prism), with the "Cpu Package" reaching as high as 97 degrees. Having installed this, along with Mastergel Maker thermal compound, it is running a whopping 27 degrees cooler! I have thrown everything I can at the CPU to make it get hot, and this cooler is keeping it in check. A thoughtfully designed product, that delivers what it says it will.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beats similary priced AIO water coolers Fitting: The bracket and tools supplied fitted easily, allowing the heatsink (which is sizable) to be easily bolted down at good pressure. Fans (two included) slide down and fit on the front of each set of fins, with a set of wire clips. ( a little fiddly but I have used worse). The new design has a cut out so cleared my ram modules without any issue. Performance: Much better than the Coolmaster Liquid Pro 140 AIO (twin 14"fan) it replaced. Keeps my OC Intel I7 8700k (5.0GHz) around 65c on full load, and just a few degrees above ambient on idle. Definitely closer to any Custom loop setup I have had than any AIO I have tried. Noise: No louder than any of the AIO (CM/Corsair) units I have used with twin fans, if anything because of the large fans, I hear it spin up the fans less. Size: BIG check the size before you buy, that being said, it fitted into my Corsair 400C and because of the redesign slotted over my RAM. Overall: Better then similar priced AIO coolers, with easy fitting and amazingly good build quality, not sure why I even bothered with AIO cooler to start with. If you have the space you will not get a better air cooler ( or from the ones I have had an AIO either)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As Good As it Gets very quiet, only makes noticeable noise when fans are push to 100% which there is zero need to do so. Installation is easy as it gets, and thermals are great too. i7-4790k @4.7GHz 1.3V never see more than ~80 decgrees C.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing looking cooler with the best temps and silent action I nearly never purchased this due to noctua famous colour of brown n beige , however after discovering that you can buy the fans in black with chromax addons I was sold, I purchased this cooler and 2x 140 black fans and put the white chromax tags on, I’ve also ordered the new radiator cromax and will be covering them in black and white also, I live this cooler I’ve over clocked my i7 7700k to 4.8ghz and temps are idle 26-29c gaming at 4K 36-45c best cooler on the market, and I would add water coolers to that statement too

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly Surprised My CPU: 4770K Overclocked to 4.2Ghz with a 1.215 max voltage. I haven't used air to cool my CPU for 5 years or so, thinking AIO coolers were the way to go, or the only way to get super low temps. This thing blew me away, was so easy to fit and I can't believe just how well it does with cooling my CPU. In my most demanding CPU game, The Division, I get ~65C average with an occasional spike to 72C on one to two cores. I don't go above 60C in SVP 4. Downside is it doesn't look as appealing as the AIO coolers and it is rather big but if you don't really care about the looks of the inside of your PC, or rather, you don't mind an alternative look, you're making a big mistake not buying this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Premium The cooler came really well boxed with all one needs to assemble it. It also comes with a premium thermal compound. Instructions were easy and it also came with an am4 bracket though I did not need this but it was well anticipated. The cooler itself with a lateral mounting position with a 2 fan config is the real deal. Really quiet even without the low noise adapter. I have a 7700k and max temp i reached was approx. 60 degrees Celsius. But under gaming load my temps never go above mid 50's. It should be noted my case does provide good airflow so your mileage may vary.
Date published: 2018-01-04
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A meaty air cooler that's near silent and simple to install - excellent temps! This cooler is currently the highest quality consumer air cooler, as far as I can remember, and it shows. A breeze to install, very simple to install its fans, if a little fiddly, and it offers performance that beats out a lot of AIO water cooling units. Do mind of the cooler's exceptionately large size, which may become an issue on a few smaller or ill designed case. It is a bit of an eyesore, but when you barely hear its fan(s, in my case) whirring near silently, keeping your cpu excellently cooled through long and potentially high power using applications and benches.

What's the temps i7 4790K?

What are the idle and load temps do you get on stock? as I'm buying this soon and is it easy to install? also one more question is the thermal paste it comes with better then the antec mx 4 or about the same? Thanks.
Asked by: nfxcr3w
at stock you can expect to see in the region of 60/70 degrees. it is the easiest cooler on the market to install other than the dark rock pro 4 but with much better clearance for memory so i'd pick this one. the thermal paste is also the best included paste of any cooler. not too sure about after market options but you likely wont do better on this cooler without deliding the cpu as the intel TIM still sucks on the cpu.

Compatible with Dominator Platinums?

Hi, I was wondering if the heatsink would block me from putting Dominator Platinums on a Z97 Gryphon Motherboard, any help is much appreciated. Simon
Asked by: SimonPenni
The platnums are 55mm and the cooler has a ram clearance of 65MM, the fan will be needed to be fitted raised up as to not sit in the way of the Ram (as per the manual). You will need to make sure your case can take the extra width of the fan clearing above the front of the heatsink.

PWM Supprt - yes or no?

the product information page states "The NF-A15 premium fans supplied with the NH-D15 support PWM for convenient automatic speed control through the mainboard." However the specification tab states the fan does NOT support PWM Which is it??
Asked by: customer0
I am using PWM with them, they have 4 pin headers. I also have old Noctua fans with only 3 pin headers, and I use adaptors to control the flow, which are included(a pleasant extra) in the package. But the fans that come in the box are PWM anyway.
