Build a high-capacity storage or server system with the Inter-Tech 4U-4408L, a professional 4U rackmount server case designed for NAS, backup, virtualisation and data centre applications. Supporting Mini-ITX, Micro-ATX, ATX, E-ATX, SSI-CEB and SSI-EEB motherboards up to 335 x 386mm, the 4U-4408L combines eight front hot-swap bays for 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drives with an additional rear 2.5-inch hot-swap bay and two further internal drive positions. Its dual 12Gb/s SAS backplanes, multi-zone cooling system, support for up to 11 expansion cards and ATX or optional redundant 2U power supply configurations provide the flexibility required for demanding storage and server deployments.

Maximise Storage with Eight Hot-Swap Bays

Build a flexible high-capacity storage system with eight front hot-swap drive bays supporting both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch hard drives and SSDs. The tool-free hot-swap design allows supported drives to be replaced quickly while the system is running, making maintenance and storage expansion more convenient in professional server environments.

Add a Dedicated System or Cache Drive

Keep an operating system, cache or other frequently accessed data separate from the main storage array using the additional 2.5-inch hot-swap bay positioned on the rear panel. Two further internal mounting positions can each accommodate either two 2.5-inch drives or one 3.5-inch drive, providing additional flexibility when configuring the system.

Connect Storage with 12Gb/s SAS Backplanes

Support high-speed SAS storage configurations with two integrated backplanes, each providing connections for four drives and a maximum transfer rate of 12Gb/s. Each backplane uses two SATA/SAS SFF-8643 data connectors and one 4-pin Molex power connector, while an optional NVMe backplane is available as an upgrade for compatible storage configurations.

Keep Multiple Drives Cool

Maintain stable operating temperatures with a multi-zone cooling system designed around high-density storage configurations. Two removable 80mm fans positioned behind the front doors provide airflow through the drive area, while three 120mm fans in the central panel optimise airflow through the main system compartment. Three dust filters behind the front panel also help reduce dust accumulation, while the removable front fans simplify maintenance.

Install a broad range of server platforms with support for Mini-ITX, Micro-ATX, ATX, E-ATX, SSI-CEB and SSI-EEB motherboards up to 335 x 386mm. The 4U chassis also supports CPU coolers up to 145mm in height, providing greater flexibility when selecting server processors and cooling solutions.

Create a highly expandable server platform with support for up to 11 expansion cards. With a maximum graphics card length of 330mm, the chassis provides substantial internal space for compatible graphics, networking, storage controller and other PCIe expansion hardware.

Configure power delivery around your server requirements with support for standard ATX power supplies or optional redundant 2U power supplies. An optional rear panel is available for redundant power supply installation, providing a path towards higher availability for professional environments where continued operation is important.

Access Essential Connections from the Front

Connect peripherals directly from the front of the rackmount chassis using two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports. The front-panel connections provide convenient access for maintenance peripherals and other USB devices without requiring access to the rear of the rack.

Install in a Standard 19-Inch Rack

Deploy the 4U-4408L within standard rack infrastructure using its 4U rackmount format and 65cm-class chassis depth. Measuring 485 x 688 x 178mm externally, the robust enclosure provides the internal volume required for high-density storage and server hardware while maintaining a conventional rackmount footprint.
