The Gigabyte MZ01-CE0 Rev. 3.x is an ATX server motherboard designed for single AMD EPYC 7002 and 7003 Series processors, providing an eight-channel DDR4 memory architecture and extensive PCIe expansion for demanding server and workstation deployments. With eight DIMM slots supporting ECC RDIMM, LRDIMM and 3DS RDIMM/LRDIMM memory, the board supports memory speeds up to 3200 MT/s and capacities of up to 2TB using supported 3DS memory modules.

Built around AMD's SP3 platform, the MZ01-CE0 provides five PCIe 3.0 expansion slots, including four x16 slots and one x8 slot, alongside an M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 interface for high-speed storage. Four SlimSAS 4i connectors provide connectivity for up to 16 SATA 6Gb/s devices, while dual 10Gb/s LAN, dual 1Gb/s LAN and a dedicated management LAN provide flexible networking and server management connectivity.

High-Core-Count AMD EPYC Processing

The single SP3 socket supports AMD EPYC 7002 and 7003 Series processors, including processors with up to 64 cores and 128 threads. The platform supports a cTDP of up to 280W, providing the CPU capability and power headroom required for compute-intensive server workloads.

High-Capacity Eight-Channel DDR4 Memory

Eight DIMM slots provide an eight-channel memory architecture with support for DDR4 ECC RDIMM and LRDIMM modules up to 128GB, as well as 3DS RDIMM/LRDIMM modules up to 256GB. Memory speeds reach up to 3200 MT/s, while the supported 3DS configurations allow up to 2TB of system memory for memory-intensive workloads.

Flexible PCIe Expansion for Compute and Add-In Hardware

Five PCIe Gen3 expansion slots provide extensive connectivity for add-in hardware, comprising four PCIe x16 slots operating at Gen3 x16 and one PCIe x8 slot operating at Gen3 x8. This layout provides substantial expansion capacity for GPUs, networking hardware, storage controllers and other PCIe devices.

High-Capacity SATA Storage Through SlimSAS

Four SlimSAS connectors provide connectivity for up to 16 SATA 6Gb/s ports, allowing the MZ01-CE0 to accommodate substantial quantities of SATA storage within a compatible server chassis. A dedicated M.2 M-key slot with PCIe Gen3 x4 connectivity additionally supports 2242, 2260, 2280 and 22110 M.2 devices for high-speed system or application storage.

Multi-Gigabit Networking for Server Infrastructure

Dual Intel X550-AT2 10Gb/s LAN ports provide high-speed network connectivity, complemented by dual Intel I210-AT 1Gb/s LAN ports for additional network interfaces. The board also includes a dedicated 10/100/1000 Mbps management LAN and supports NCSI functionality by switch, providing flexible connectivity for server and infrastructure deployments.

Dedicated Hardware Management with AST2500

An integrated Aspeed AST2500 Baseboard Management Controller provides dedicated server management independent of the host operating system. The GIGABYTE Management Console web interface provides features including HTML5 KVM, sensor monitoring, hardware inventory, event logging, fan profiles, power control and remote BIOS, BMC and CPLD updates for easier administration of deployed systems.

Integrated Graphics and Server I/O

The Aspeed AST2500 provides integrated graphics with a rear VGA output, while the rear I/O includes two USB 3.0 ports, four RJ-45 network connections, a dedicated management LAN port, and power and ID buttons with LED indicators. Internal connectivity includes six system fan headers, a CPU fan header, USB 3.0, COM, TPM, front-panel, backplane, PMBus and IPMB connections.

ATX Design for Server and Workstation Builds

The 305 x 244mm ATX form factor allows the MZ01-CE0 to be integrated into compatible server and workstation chassis while providing substantial expansion, storage and networking connectivity. The board uses a 24-pin ATX main power connector alongside two 8-pin ATX 12V connectors, with passive heatsinks providing board-level cooling.
