Cutting-edge connectivity with USB-CA single USB-C cable allows for video and audio reproduction, rapid data transfer, and power supply for connected devices. The EV2490 serves as your central docking station, making it easy to connect your laptop, especially when switching between workstations. Efficient Multi-display SolutionThe monitor’s USB-C ports enable multiple monitors to be connected to the computer via a single cable (using the daisy chain method). This allows for a hassle-free configuration of up to four screens and reduces cable clutter. Being able to view and edit several applications simultaneously also improves comfort and increases efficiency when working.

Cleverly chosen multi-screen solutionsMultiscreen solutions look particularly good when all monitors are similar in design and have an almost frameless UltraSlim format. This is easily achieved by using the USB-C daisy chain and linking several EV2490s.

LAN portThe monitor has a dedicated LAN port to ensure a stable wired network connection. Laptops and PCs require only one USB cable to be connected to the EV2490 to gain network access via the monitor. Perfect for laptops that don't have an Ethernet port and allows for fast and stable data transfer, which is required for video conferences, for example. As a network device the monitor has its own MAC address.

Optionally, the EIZO MAC Address Clone Utility software for Windows can temporarily assign the MAC address of the connected PC to the monitor. This transparency grants authenticated PCs network access through the monitor.

Built-in KVM

Multiple PCs one userIt has never been easier to use two PCs simultaneously. The EV2490 has an integrated KVM switch for both its USB upstream ports and can be used as a keyboard/mouse switch.

Image Quality

maximum image quality thanks to the IPS panelThe monitor is capable of all three key elements of excellent image quality: excellent resolution of 1920x1080, maximum contrast of 1000:1, and stable brightness of up to 250cd/m2. That means you will experience razor-sharp text contours, brilliant graphics, and clear images. Thanks to the high-quality IPS panels with LED backlight, contrasts and colours remain stable from every viewing angle.

Precise Colour ControlAn image can only be perfect if the colours are, too. This is why EIZO monitors have a 10-bit look-up table at a minimum, which allows the colour information to be assigned much more precisely than with conventional 8-bit LUTs. The finest colour gradations ensure that gradients are always perfectly displayed, while also offering customised adjustment options. For example, you can adjust the white balance from 4000 K to 10000 K in 500-K intervals.

Elegant Design

attractive Frameless designFlexScan office monitors are an attractive addition to any office. Their sleek, compact design is elegant and the ideal size. The virtually frameless models are the perfect choice for multi-screen solutions and also look great as a stand-alone monitor, all while offering maximum usability.

Controls integrated into bezelElectrostatic switches are integrated into the front of the EV2490 instead of mechanical buttons. This ensures ease of use while also giving the monitor an extremely elegant look. The speakers and all the controls are also built into the bezel, pointing forward in the direction of the user. They are fully integrated into the monitor’s flat, nearly frameless design to offer an excellent user experience.

Ergonomics

Save electricity and your eyes with Auto EcoViewFeaturing an Auto EcoView brightness sensor, that detects changes in ambient brightness that occurs throughout the day and automatically adjusts the screen to the ideal brightness level to prevent eye fatigue. Additionally thanks to the automatic brightness adjustment, you will save up to 50% of your electricity costs in comparison to a monitor that is permanently operated at maximum brightness.

Flicker FreeTo help protect your eyes, EIZO has developed a hybrid technology to control the backlight. This combines the benefits of PWM and DC control. The PWM control uses much higher frequencies than standard PWM methods. The result is a flicker-free viewing experience while maintaining picture quality and colour stability. In addition, compared to pure DC control, you can adjust the brightness to less than 1% of the maximum value in darkly lit rooms. The flicker-free and low blue light content of the EIZO FlexScan monitors is certified by TÜV Rheinland.

Anti-Glare coatingThe EV2490 offers a perfect, non-glare surface. By minimising glare by diffusing the reflected light, the EV2490 effectively protects your eyes from straining. This keeps your eyes from getting as tired and allows you to sit comfortably in front of the monitor, without having to sit in a forced position to prevent glare.

illustrationof blue light reducing monitor display mode

Less Blue LightBright, blue light emitted by LED backlights of some monitors can be detrimental to workspace ergonomics. When editing documents, paper mode simulates reading on actual paper by using the appropriate settings for contrast, brightness and colour temperature. This reduces the amount of blue light. When used in combination with the Auto EcoView brightness settings, blue light is reduced by a total of up to 80%.

Flexible Base

Ergonomic and stableThe adjustable stand has ergonomics in focus. You can turn, swivel, and tilt the monitor in the way that is most comfortable for your back, neck and sitting posture. It can be continuously adjusted in height and lowered almost to the table or the base of the stand. This allows you to position the top row of the picture ergonomically below eye level.

Because it makes a difference whether you are watching a film, editing a picture, surfing the net, or writing texts. At the touch of a button, you set the respective pre-set for brightness, gamma correction and colour temperature. For example, the Paper mode simulates the pleasant contrast of printed paper, which is easy on the eyes when reading and prevents fatigue.

Screen InstyleIn addition to the on-screen menu, you can conveniently control the EV2485 by using the Screen InStyle software on a Windows PC. The configuration options include colour reproduction, energy saving options, and ergonomic function. In multi-screen systems, the settings can be applied synchronously to all connected screens with Screen InStyle.

System administrators can centrally manage and control monitors connected in the network with Screen InStyle installed using the Screen InStyle Server application. This optimises power consumption and simplifies asset management of the monitors.

Choosing a monitor is not an easy decision to make, and not just because of the large number of variations in resolution, refresh rates, sizes and connectivity options. These panel technologies can be grouped into three broad categories which cover the vast majority of monitors sold in the consumer market.

G-SYNC works in a surprisingly simple way - it calculates how long the present frame takes to compute and then, crucially, varies the refresh rate of the monitor to match. It works between a minimum of 33.3ms (30fps) and the maximum supported refresh of the display. The key takeaway here is that the graphics card and monitor are both synced up to one another - the monitor doesn't have the limitations imposed by a rigid, fixed-rate scanning routine.
