Express YourselfWith 11 categories and 121 total sounds, the SY-1 puts a huge range of synth sounds at your fingertips.

Expressive leads, sweeping pads, layered organs, wide basses, and more are all on tap, along with a variety of rhythmic synth patterns that are a you to play with.

Suitable For Any Rig

boss sy-1

Easily IntegratedAs a standard BOSS compact, the SY-1 fits right into a serial pedal chain like any other stompbox. But with the send/return loop and dedicated mix controls, you can also blend one or more pedals in parallel with the SY-1’s synth voices.

For instance, you can patch drive pedals in the loop, and then send the combined output to mod, delay, and reverb pedals for overall processing. The send can be used as a direct out as well, alloqing you to route synth and guitar sounds to separate destinations.

Enhance Performances

boss sy-1

Real-Time ControlThe SY-1 gives you multiple ways to make your synth performances even more diverse and expressive. Pressing and holding the pedal switch sustains the last-played synth sound, giving you the ability to jam with regular guitar over the top.

You can also connect an external footswitch for tap tempo and octave-shift effects, or plug in an expression pedal for continuous Tone/Rate control.

Buying Guide
Boss Sy-1 Guitar Synthesiser Pedal with 121 Sounds is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Some good sounds, but annoying auto-on feature The pedal is mostly successful. There are some very usable sounds and the tracking is fantastic, especially chords on string sounds, but a some of the sounds are just meh, or even not really usable. The thing that is making me almost ready to sell it though is that it always powers up turned on, which is a real pain when you have it installed in a pedal board. Having to turn it off immediately you power on is annoying, and even more annoying that you can't change this behaviour. Perhaps it's meant for switching systems where you want this behaviour, but most people won't have that.
