The Freezer 4U-M Ampere is factory-compatible with Ampere Altra LGA4926 and also supports a wide range of Intel and AMD server processors, including Intel sockets LGA4189, LGA4677, and LGA4710, as well as AMD sockets SP6, sTR5, SP3, TR4, sTRX4, and sWRX8. It operates at only 2.88 W while delivering high cooling performance, making it energy-efficient and capable of cooling high-performance processors with up to 64 cores and a TDP of 350 W.
RAM Compatibility and Clearance
The Freezer 4U-M Ampere provides 53 mm of clearance for memory modules, allowing the use of RAM with moderate heatsinks. This ensures proper airflow around the CPU area and broad compatibility with various RAM configurations, maintaining efficient cooling performance in dense server setups.
Compact Design and Dual Socket Compatibility
With an installation height of only 145 mm, the Freezer 4U-M Ampere fits both standard 4U server racks and most consumer 4U cases. The cooler measures 124 x 156 x 145 mm and weighs 1275 g, making it compact enough for dual-socket motherboards. Fans can be easily swapped to adjust airflow direction if required, providing flexible installation options. The cooler is designed to operate reliably in ambient temperatures from 0–40 °C.
Powerful Fans in Push-Pull Configuration
The installed 2 x 120 mm PWM fans benefit from all the advantages of the award-winning P series. With speeds ranging from 400–2300 rpm, they are controlled via PWM for precise airflow management. Designed for static pressure, the fans handle the Freezer 4U-M Ampere’s 57 aluminium fins and eight 6 mm direct-touch heat pipes efficiently, dissipating heat in push-pull mode even under heavy workloads. The dual configuration ensures redundancy, protects the system from heat-induced shutdowns, and keeps office or server environments quiet at 40 dBA. Fans use 4-pin connectors with 200 mm cables, operate at 0.12 A / 12 V DC, and start at 8 V DC, providing reliable performance in continuous operation.
Designed for Continuous Operation
Both fans use dual ball bearings, which allow 24/7 operation without compromising performance. These bearings are more resistant to contamination and wear caused by high temperatures than conventional sleeve or fluid-dynamic bearings, making them ideal for fault-free continuous server operation.
Premium Thermal Paste Included
The Freezer 4U-M Ampere comes with ARCTIC MX-6 thermal paste in a 0.8 g syringe. This high-performance paste reduces heat buildup between the CPU heat spreader and the cooler, is neither conductive nor capacitive, and is completely safe to use.
