Product Overview

Powerful Cooling

The P9 PWM PST is a powerful 92 mm fan with 200 to 3000 rpm. The fan delivers a static pressure of 3.12 mmH2O and generates an airflow of up to 38.83 cfm. It offers precise control of the fan speed via pulse width modulation (PWM) and is extremely efficient at 0.12 A. In addition, it has a 0 dB mode for silent operation in IDLE.

Optimised for High Static Pressure

The P9 PWM PST delivers a focused airflow and guarantees a good airflow even with particularly high static pressure. Therefore, the P9 PWM PST is also specially suitable for use on heat sinks, radiators, pinholes and filters.

0 dB Mode - Zero rpm

The speed of the fan can be throttled down to a standstill via PWM. This allows silent operation in IDLE and at the same time guarantees maximum performance when required. This enables the P9 PWM PST to be extremely flexible in adjusting the speed to optimally regulate the airflow for every case.

Virtually Silent Fluid Dynamic Bearing

As a special feature, the P9 PWM PST is equipped with ARCTIC's proven Hydrodynamic Bearing. This provides virtually silent operation at all speeds. Although these bearings tend to wear out, ARCTIC does not compromise on durability and offers a 6-year warranty.

200 to 3000 rpm Regulated via PWM

With a wide speed range and innovative PWM Sharing Technology (PST), the P9 PWM PST's fan speed can be controlled in sync with other fans. ARCTIC's PST fans come equipped with their own built-in daisy-chain solution, and, in addition to the plug-in connector, have another socket to which an additional fan or up to four other PST fans can be connected in series.

Quality You Can Rely On

To ensure the longevity of our products, we carry out long-term tests under different, sometimes very adverse conditions. In this way, we learn how we can permanently improve our products for our customers. In addition, the excellent results of long-term testing give us the assurance that our products are not only outstanding in terms of quality, but also in terms of durability. This is a certainty that we are happy to pass on to our customers, which is why we give a 6-year manufacturer's guarantee.

The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke.

Watercooling
Date Issued: 19th Jun 2008

Watercooling for the PC has been around for years in some form or another, for at least as long as Scan have been in business, with basic physics defining why you want to use it. That means for air cooling, to cope with increasing temperature in the heatsink you need to move the air across it faster. That is why thermostatically controlled fans in your PC will turn faster the hotter something gets.

Anybody who has been near their share of computer systems will appreciate that not all systems make the same amount of noise. There are a number of reasons for why this is so. Firstly, a computer makes noise for different reasons. Generally, anything mechanical is going to make noise.
