Corsair CX 600W Power Supply

The CX Series power supply from Corsair is a great entry level PSU and is an excellent choice for basic system builds and desktop PC computer upgrades. CX Series PSUs are available in a variety of power configurations, and include features that are normally found only on premium power supplies. The matt black finish, black sleeved cables and black connectors give the CX600 a high-tech look. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value for money What can I say; a respected brand that does what you expect. Enough connectors for many devices and the cables are long enough for at least a midi-tower and probably for a full tower. Of course it is up to you to determine if this PSU is powerful enough for your rig and that it has the correct number of connectors. Overall pleased with my purchase

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Powered up PC OK I hope this lasts longer than the Coolmaster PSU that was in the PC base I got built by Scan

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful yet quiet in operation Bought this to replace a 'suspect' PU. This is a quite PU with amble power leads. Fixed my problematic PC problems. Would also like to praise the next day DPT delivery and the hour time slot allocated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works and is very quiet, difficult to say otherwise. I put it in and switched it on and it works. The cable fittings always seem to be the wrong orientation for me or perhaps I am fitting my disks upside down??? It seems a good piece of kit though only been going for a few weeks so can't say much more.

Questions & Answers

Haswell Ready

I would like to purchase this psu to use with a "4th Generation Intel Core (Haswell) i5-4430 3.00GHz (3.20GHz Turbo) Quad-Core Processor - 6MB Cache" on a "GIGABYTE GA-H87M-HD3 Intel H87 Express Chipset Motherboard" but I have just noticed that it states in the specs that the PSU isn't "Haswell Ready" does this mean that the PSU will not work with my CPU? If not could you recommend a 600w PSU that will. The PC is just a home/office PC not a gaming PC. Thanks
Asked by: GazRam
Just done a quick search about Haswell ready PSUs and it would appear there are some potential issues with Haswell CPUs and non-compatible PSUs. This page explains the issues and an answer from Corsair which should guide you to the correct PSU.

Does the ATX connector split down to a 20 pin from 24 pin?

Hello, I'm looking to replace the PSU in an old system, as a precaution - does this power supply allow you to split the 24 pin ATX connector down to a 20 pin? Thanks in advance.
Asked by: Jp1805
Hello, This is a 24 pin connector and does not split to a 20+4 pin. Regards,

Will this run a Asus R9 280x and Phenom x4 955 BE?

Asked by: Scooby
A minimum of a 600W PSU is requried for this GPU. It is a good idea to give yourself some head room so a 750 - 850 W PSU would be recommended.
