Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement fan for a very noisy Swann NVR fan Fan fitted perfectly into the NVR case and the extra adaptor cable supplied with the fan enabled a direct connection to the NVR motherboard. The fan has excellent airflow and is almost silent. Definitely recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Small but effective Like all Noctua fans of this design its very effective at moving air quietly and well. The pressure of the air leaving the fan is quite low but it shifts a good bulk of air and our measurements show it is very effective at cooling.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not up to the usual standard Yes, all small fans are going to be noisy if they are to shift decent amounts of air - but I found these 40mm Noctuas to be no better than much cheaper fans when it came to noise levels. Build quality is up to the usual Noctua high standard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used these to replace fans in Icy Dock MB994SP-4S Perfect! A little costly, but the fans in my Icy Dock MB994SP-4S were noisy from new, and got steadily worse over time. I have 3 of these Icy Dock units in my home server and the tower lives behind my TV, and the noise of the hum from the fans was far too intrusive. With these little Noctua's, my server is now silent again - so Wife Acceptance Factor is good here. There is hardly any noise emitted from my case, so whilst these units are a little costly, their quality and silence justifies the slightly higher than usual price. Another happy customer! Rated 5 out of 5 by from quiet and cheap I use these fans in my 24 port switch. These fans made my switch a lot quieter than the stock fans. I barely hear my switch with them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional fan for premium builds Well, when it comes to case fans Noctua I believe are the undisputed top manufacturer. You pay for it certainly, but their fans are the pinnacle of quality. They have a high throughput of air volume, long life expectancy and are known for their silent operation. As usual this fan is extremely silent, even before using their speed reduction cables which all their fans come with. Near silent with the speed reduction cables. Comes with anti vibration mounting pins, speed reduction cables and obligatory installation manual. I quite like the brown colour scheme but I do sympathize that other who like colour schemes to better match their rigs. If you are on a tight budget I would suggest spending the premium markup for these elsewhere, but they are a near lifetime addition to your future rigs. However, it is a matter of choice to get the best with accessories to match and pay for it, or get slightly less out of a cheaper fan brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Premium quality quiet fan ! The quality we all expect from a Noctua fan. Excellent fan, quiet and moves air well. Also comes with a cable extender and a 3 to 2 pin adapter (small form). Ideal to replace the fan in some STBs.

Is this fan 5v or 12v?

I can see there is a 5v 40mm fan with the same spec, but this one does not say what the voltage is.
