Choosing a monitor is not an easy decision to make, and not just because of the large number of variations in resolution, refresh rates, sizes and connectivity options. There are also varying panel technologies used to form each display that need to be considered. These panel technologies can be grouped into three broad categories which cover the vast majority of monitors sold in the consumer market.

35" Acer Predator Z35 Curved 144Hz (200Hz OC) NVIDIA G-Sync v2 Gaming Monitor, VA, 2560x1080, 4ms, 100M:1, DP/HDMI/USB3 is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Buyer beware of Dead Pixels Buyer beware. The monitor I received has a dead pixel bang in the middle of the screen. I'd advise you pay extra for dead pixel cover when purchasing this monitor, although you'd think that an £830 monitor would come with some sort of dead pixel guarantee. I have a pair of GTX1080's in SLi, and this monitor has dampened what should be a great gaming experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rich screen at lower resolution This is the less dense but bigger real estate version of Acer's Z34. I got it for gaming going for the lower price offered by Scan over the Z34, and am very happy with screen and Scan's service. OK, you can still see the pixel framework on this less dense screen in some moments, but the sheer size and wrap-around makes for great gaming. The colours are fantastic. Not one dead pixel, either. The speakers are tinny and I don't recommend using them, but I use a small surround system anyway. The G-Sync is awesome. Being a VA screen you can get some dragging but I don't notice it. The evenness and consistency of the screen across the image is great. The thing is massive, has an awesome base and looks great. For office work, the font pitches on MS Office are the same as a typical 2K screen. Some folks say fonts are not so clear as a higher density screen. Well I find it absolutely fine, and having the wide screen has a lot to offer when working on documents and spreadsheets. I find no discomfort working on documents. In summary: love it. Great value for money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent, but pricey gaming monitor. Right off the bat it's a solidly built monitor and looks pretty cool. There's no point in overclocking to 200 Mhz, it just ruins the picture with trailing shadows, the panel simply can't keep up with that refresh rate. Leave it at 144Mhz and it's amazing. Can't fault this for gaming, the resolution hits the sweet spot so your GPU can can actually render more than 100 fps in more demanding titles and make use of the high refresh rate. In addition colours are great in games and movie watching. This is my first 144Mhz monitor, and moving up from 60Mhz after many years of being a PC gamer. It immediately makes a huge difference and then you fully understand the fuss people make about comparing 60 to 144 monitors. One way to describe this it's like having a GPU upgrade, everything is smooth and clear during for high speed movement with no sign of screen tearing. Overall it improves your accuracy in gaming and simply makes games look a lot better. Is it worth spending £££'s more for a high refresh rate monitor? If gaming is your main hobby, then yes, it is worth the investment for amount of use you'll get out of it. Fundamentally that's what you're paying for here, a premium cost for a higher refresh rate. Finally, the ultrawide aspect ratio is a nice upgrade too, not essential in games but all the same pretty cool. The added width is also handy for everyday desktop and applications.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Speedy Great monitor if you have the horsepower to run it to potential. Mine arrived with a dead pixle but it was caused by the pressure on the screen fit that was easily fixed. The 200 setting can cause ghosting on some games but not all. Paired with a 980ti overclocked to get the most. This is a gaming monitor so don't expect anything spectacular in the ppi stakes. That said I've never run games that look so clear and fast in my life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great looking, great features This is the monitor for all serious gamers. Fantastic definition, and has all the controls to define the perfect picture for any game. Sound quality is average but as I use quality headphones and an xrocker sometimes I really don't need to rely on the monitor to provide the sound.
