Rated 3 out of 5 by Darkwave I am hesitant to call this Dell quality, you're paying almost entirely for G-Sync.
I was smiling when I took delivery of this monitor on the 9th of April 2016. I settled on this display after seeing a replacement for my Asus PB278Q, which seems to be on its last legs with serious image persistence problems and a couple of dead pixels. As I unpacked the Dell my first impressions were very good; it was very easy to put together and seems to be of very high build quality, it is also quite light for a monitor of this size which was a pleasant surprise. I was very excited as I set it up.
Unfortunately all of the excitement rapidly drained out of me when I turned on my computer. The first thing I noticed was that my Windows 10 task bar, which is usually black, was light grey so I double-checked the settings to make sure my theme had not changed. It hadn't. I opened Chrome to perform a Google search for "Dell S2716DG washed out" and was horrified to see the black-on-white text in the bottom half of the browser window was difficult to read due to a lack of contrast. I continued to search and found some advice recommending a custom colour profile from TFT Central, so I set that up but there was zero difference.
"It's just the desktop" I thought, "I bought this primarily for games so let's see how the colours look in GTA V and how much of a difference G-Sync makes." Making sure my refresh rate and G-Sync settings were all correct I loaded the game. The good news I can report is that G-Sync does exactly what it says on the tin and provided a very satisfactory experience over using vsync, the bad news is that playing such a vivid and detailed game only emphasised how terrible the colours and contrast are on this monitor.
My professional background is in graphical design and I am very familiar with quality TFT and IPS displays. If you covered up the logo and told me this was a budget, no-brand 1440p monitor, not a £450 flagship by one of the best monitor makers out there, I would not have questioned it. I am writing this review on my dying Asus and even though this thing is almost fit for the bin the difference in quality is like night and day. After I return this monitor I think I'll get the train over to Scan and look at some monitors with the naked eye before buying another, panel standards seem to have slipped.

Rated 5 out of 5 by dazzy Excellent Build , Screen Gorgeous , £150 cheaper than ASUS
This monitor is beautiful.Well built and came packaged well as dell monitors do.The only downside is that the base stand that mine has doesnt sit right. There is a bit of wobble on the base stand where the vesa mount connects to the base. Other than that very good screen and colours. Would of liked some speakers built in, dell why didnt you do this? Overlooked sight maybe.
