MULTI-Level, MULTI-Play, and MULTI-Purpose!Yamaha's DTX-Multi 12 is a 12-pad digital percussion unit with a huge selection of sounds, making it a handy addition to any drummer’s set-up. It can be used on its own, alongside an acoustic kit or as an extra source of sounds for an electronic kit. Each of the 12 trigger pads can be assigned to any of the 1,277 drum, percussion and effect sounds built into the module. This gives you plenty of options, whether you’re after extra percussion, electronic sounds or something a bit different.
There’s also USB connectivity, so you can load your own samples into the DTX-Multi 12 and play them from the pads. This is particularly useful for live work, where having specific sounds or samples ready to trigger can make a big difference. The DTX-Multi 12 is straightforward enough for beginners to get to grips with, but offers enough depth for more experienced players. If you’re looking for a compact percussion pad with a serious amount of sounds behind it, the DTX-Multi 12 is a superb option.

An Abundance of Rich Sounds
a wide selection of percussion and acoustic drum soundsThe DTX-Multi 12 comes loaded with 1,277 sounds, covering everything from the classic Yamaha MOTIF synth range through to a wide selection of percussion and acoustic drum sounds. Alongside the electronic and synth sounds, you’ll find DJ sounds, chromatic percussion and instruments from a range of folk styles, giving you plenty of options to work with. Yamaha has also used its sampling technology to add a range of newly recorded percussion sounds to the module.
If the built-in sounds aren’t enough, you can load your own WAV and AIFF samples via a USB memory device and use them as playable voices. The DTX-Multi 12 has 64MB of battery-backed Flash ROM, so your samples are stored on the unit and ready to use when you need them. There’s also a good selection of built-in effects. Reverb and chorus can be applied across the whole kit, while the Variation effect can be used on individual voices to alter and shape specific sounds.
