A Pocket Powerhouse
A high-performance WiFi 7 client adapter, the Ubiquiti AirWire connects devices to a wireless uplink while delivering multi-gigabit throughput. It uses STR MLO (Simultaneous Transmit and Receive Multi-Link Operation) to enable simultaneous full-duplex links, targeting ultra-low latency, extended range, and real-world multi-gigabit speeds over WiFi rather than traditional wired backhaul.
Ultra Performance
The adapter supports WiFi 7 (802.11be) with four spatial streams and dual-band operation across 6 GHz and 5 GHz. It delivers peak data rates of 5.8 Gbps on 6 GHz (320 MHz bandwidth) and 4.3 Gbps on 5 GHz (240 MHz bandwidth). MU-MIMO is supported on both bands with 2×2 downlink/uplink streams, while antenna gain reaches 11 dBi on each band for strong signal focus. Maximum transmit power is rated at 20 dBm (6 GHz) and 25 dBm (5 GHz).
Backwards Compatible
The AirWire maintains backward compatibility across multiple WiFi generations. Supported data rates span from 7.3 Mbps up to 5.8 Gbps on WiFi 7, 2.4 Gbps on WiFi 6, 1.7 Gbps on WiFi 5, and 300 Mbps on 802.11n. Channel bandwidth support scales from HT 20/40 MHz through to EHT 320 MHz, covering legacy and next-generation deployments.
Mesh Compatibility
Wireless meshing is built in, allowing the adapter to extend network coverage without cabling. Real-time spectral analysis provides visibility into RF conditions, helping identify interference and optimise channel usage in dense environments.
High Speed Copper
Connectivity is handled via a 5 GbE port over USB 3.2 Gen 2, with management through USB-C. A 0.96" status display provides quick system feedback. Power is supplied via USB PD (5/9/12V), drawing up to 18W, with 15W in normal mode and 20W in performance mode.
