Product Overview
Blackmagic's NAB 2019 push was all about 8K and prepping you for it. Just because we've got adjusted to 4K, doesn't mean that time has stopped and advancements don't happen. With this in mind, Blackmagic are getting ahead of the game and putting out an 8K workflow solution prior to it becoming the norm.
Introducing the Teranex Mini 8K, an SDI to HDMI HDR monitoring solution, future proofing you from the incoming future. Built in the same style as previous Teranex Minis, this rackmountable box is clearly labelled and easy to follow and can be used with third party monitor calibration tools.
Reduce load on your CPU and GPU when working with 8K, as the Teranex Mini will handle the colour accurate monitoring for you, drawing 3D LUTs and Scopes without tearing away from any other processing power. Utilise it with switchers, like the ATEM Constellation 8K, to keep an eye on each view or source on larger monitors, as if it had its own dedicated view.
The Teranex Mini 8K has Quad Link 12G-SDI for HD, Ultra HD and 8K, plus 4 HDMI outputs and a down converter to view 8K sources on Ultra HD and HD screens. Blackmagic have fitted the Teranex with the latest HDR support, including: ST2108 1, ST2084 and the ST425 standards; ST425; ST2108 1 standard for SDI transport of HDR signals; ST2082 10 for 12G SDI as well as ST425 for 3G SDI sources.
For those that require more information when monitoring, the Teranex allows you to overlay two independent scopes on top of the image, customising them however you wish. These can be Vectorscopes, RGB and YUV parade displays and Histograms. Blackmagic have included 33 point 3D LUTs, the same used in the film industry, giving you an accurate and film stock like style on screen, compensating for the varying monitors you might have to use. Load two different LUTs and switch between them via the panel.
Teranex supports framerates up to 60 across the board, with 8K serving up 59.94. All this can be altered and monitored via the LCD menu, which gives you a lot of options without having to refer to software. If you are using software (included for Mac and PC), you can then control the box via the internet.
In addition to this, the Teranex Mini 8K is perfect for digital signage, feed in your 8K source and split it across multiple displays for easy, remotely managed signage. Need to store it? Blackmagic have made the Teranex a rack shelf so you can fit it into your current set up or wherever you want.
