It accommodates SSI-EEB, SSI-CEB, Extended ATX, ATX, Micro-ATX, and Mini-ITX motherboards, making it compatible with workstation-class builds as well as compact designs. With eight PCI expansion slots, the CS383 enables complex configurations such as multiple GPU setups or high-speed networking cards, bridging the gap between NAS storage solutions and full-scale workstation or server systems.

Cooling Without Limits

The CS383 has been engineered for advanced cooling options. A pre-installed 140mm rear fan and dual 92mm internal fans provide strong baseline airflow, while the top panel supports radiators up to 420mm in length. Additional mounting positions accommodate up to three 120mm or 140mm fans, giving users a wide range of choices for liquid or air cooling. Depending on configuration, CPU cooler height allowances extend up to 186mm without a GPU bracket or 158mm with the bracket installed, ensuring compatibility with high-performance thermal solutions.

In addition to its primary eight-bay array, the CS383 provides internal mounting options for system or auxiliary drives. Users can configure the space to hold a single 3.5-inch drive paired with two 2.5-inch devices, or alternatively install three 2.5-inch drives. This flexibility makes it possible to separate operating system disks, cache SSDs, or smaller high-speed volumes from the main hot-swap bays, extending both the capacity and versatility of the chassis.

Flexible Front Expansion Options

The front panel provides space for three 5.25-inch devices, offering additional options for optical drives, hot-swap bays, or other expansion modules. Alternatively, this section can be repurposed as a secondary PSU slot, accommodating an additional ATX (PS2) power supply of up to 200mm in length. This flexibility makes the CS383 suitable for redundant or high-load power configurations, while the primary PSU bay supports units up to 240mm.

Expansion Card and GPU Support

With room for expansion/interface cards up to 340mm in length and 164mm in width, the CS383 provides ample space for today’s largest GPUs and add-in cards. Multi-GPU setups are fully supported thanks to its eight-slot layout, making the chassis a strong candidate for rendering workloads, simulation tasks, or other GPU-intensive applications alongside its NAS functionality.
