Composition - Done Right
make tweaks in real timeTodays composers require tools which allow them to incorporate electronic elements within traditional scoring. The new ‘Score View’ in Studio One merges the greatest features of PreSonus’ award-winning notation software, ‘Notion’, into Studio One. You can view numerous staves at one time to work on voicing, or just one track at a time.
Utilise the score symbol palette to adjust dynamics, add trills, tremolos and much during playback. You can choose your ‘Musical Editor View’ per-track, so you’re able to switch between the Score View, Drum View, and the traditional Piano Roll View as per your requirements on a pertrack basis – or, view the same note information in different views all at the same time, delivering a rare versatility, rarely seen in the digital audio world.
Produce without Limits
a smooth, simple workflowThanks to Studio One, you can now forget about tedious transposition, cutting, pasting and moving whilst arranging. Use ‘Scratch Pads’ to try out arrangements, an ‘Arranger’ track which makes moving sections of songs around as easy as moving parts, and the revolutionary ‘Harmonic Editing’ – PreSonus’ move flexible implementation yet – there is simply no other DAW which can come close to the ease of use Studio One offers.
Inspiring virtual instruments and unique Multi Instruments let you create your own unique library of sounds. And with the brand new Aux Inputs, your hardware synths, drum machines, and groove boxes can become an easily-incorporated part of your production. So dust off that TX81Z or Portastudio and put them back to work.
The Original Drag and Drop Interface
the original and best...Studio One was the pioneer for the drag-and-drop workflow which to this day, continues to be a guiding principle in their design philosophy. Audio loops, virtual instruments, plug-in effects and even presets are all able be dragged into your session from Studio One’s innovative Browser.
Copy FX Chains from one channel to another simply by just dragging and dropping. Convert MIDI to audio or audio to MIDI, just by drag and drop. New Clip Gain Envelopes let you polish performances or remove glitches with adding a plug-in to your effects chain. Ease of use is at the heart of Studio One, so you’ll work faster than ever before.
Analogue Mixing - Digital Ease
streamline your mixing processFeaturing a completely redesigned library of effects plug-ins, Studio One 5 streamlines your mixing process. Any plug-in with an input drive now features a State Space-modeled analog input drive stage to add just the right amount of grit and warmth when you need it. Studio One Professional’s unique Pipeline XT plug-in enables you use your beloved collection of boutique, vintage, and classic analogue signal processors as easily as software plug-ins.
Studio One’s ‘Channel Editor’ enables you create complex effects chains including the Splitter tool that lets you run multiple plug-ins in parallel on a single channel. Mix Engine FX support State Space models of classic analog consoles that affect your mix across channels on any bus, collectively.
This isn’t a stereo bus plug-in, this is multi-source processing that creates vintage-inspired artifacts like true console crosstalk, analog noise, and input gain saturation.
Features Made Easy
Articulate EditingWith the addition of musical symbols playback in Studio One 5.5 Professional, composers working in Score View or Piano View can now connect musical symbols and dynamic markings to Sound Variations, which were first added in version 5.2. Musical symbols playback works with any orchestral library that features corresponding articulations. A new tab in the Sound Variations mapping editor allows mapping symbols to Sound Variations using simple, easy to use drag-and-drop or by auto-mapping based on the Sound Variation names of the currently-selected instrument.
A new Musical Symbols lane for the Note Editor lets you view symbols and Sound Variation events side-by-side. Apply musical symbols in either the Note Editor or the Score View, and they will render accurately in both. Output mapping of Sound Variations has been expandedto include MIDI channel information as part of the activation sequence, allowing virtual instruments such as Native Instruments’ Kontakt to address specific articulations.
Version 5.5 also features several new save, export, and archive options, including the ability to upload Zip archives directly from Studio One 5 Professional to a PreSonus Sphere workspace, ideal for backing up Songs, Projects, and Shows and sharing them with other Studio One 5 users. A consolidated “Convert To” option in Studio One Professional’s File menu enables exporting and archiving documents for simple transfer and backup, including all referenced media files and alternative versions, with optional lossless audio file compression. Save Songs as AAF, Capture Session, MIDI File, or Open TL from the same menu.
