Ned Steinberger’s guitars and basses were completely unique when they were first introduced in 1979. With their lightweight and headless design, Steinberger basses are still bold, modern instruments that provides both a smooth tonal response with rock solid intonation at any position on the neck.

The XT-2DB Standard Electric Bass Outfit features the revolutionary Steinberger Bass design with a Basswood body and 3-piece Hard Maple neck that together resonate as a single piece of wood. The XT-2DB is the Ultimate Travel Bass™ for traveling musicians. With a scale length of 38.5” and weighing just 7.5lbs, its ergonomic design makes it easy to take anywhere including overhead airline compartments.

Thanks to its headless construction and 3-piece Hard Maple neck, the XT-2DB isn’t as sensitive to temperature changes, which makes it virtually indestructible! The neck has a comfortable 1960's style SlimTaper™-D profile, 24 medium jumbo frets, a 34” scale length, and a 14” radius. A folding leg rest is also added and sits compactly on the lower bout of the body. A deluxe padded gigbag is included.

DB-Tuner SystemJust like Steinberger guitars, their basses are renowned for their exceptional tone and intonation at all positions. With no headstock, the XT-2DB has a Zero Nut Fret with a width of 1.50” that moves up to 2.156” at the 12th fret as the neck subtly widens to 0.70” string spacing at the bridge.

The XT-2DB features the DB-Tuner™ System for instant drop tuning of the low E-string to D along with the 40:1 Ratio Direct-Pull tuning system and Patented DoubleBall™ Bass Bridge with steel saddle offers incredible stability and sustain. Without a headstock, the weight of the XT-2DB feels more balanced than a typical electric bass. Fine tuning adjustments are made at the bridge and string changes are a quick task.

Each guitar goes through a 22 step professional guitar set up process to make sure your new instrument sounds as the manufacturer intended it to play.
