Two iconic overdrive flavours in one compact analogue pedalThe NUX Ace of Tone brings two complementary overdrive circuits together in a single, pedalboard-friendly enclosure, giving you a huge range of gain sounds without sacrificing valuable space. Whether you're after a transparent boost, bluesy breakup or a thicker rock drive, it's designed to let you build your sound exactly the way you want it.
One side delivers the punch and midrange character of the Tubeman circuit, complete with an optional FAT mode that adds extra low-end warmth and body. On the other, the Morning Star circuit offers a more open, transparent overdrive that keeps your guitar's natural voice intact. Activate SHINE mode and you'll introduce extra top-end clarity, making lead lines stand out or helping darker-sounding guitars cut through the mix.
Where the Ace of Tone really earns its place is in the way these two circuits interact. Use either side independently for a dedicated overdrive flavour, or stack them together for richer harmonics, increased sustain and a more dynamic gain structure. A dedicated routing switch lets you decide which circuit comes first, so you can experiment with different textures and response without changing the rest of your pedalboard.
Around the back, you'll also find the choice between true bypass and buffered bypass, making it easy to optimise the pedal for almost any signal chain. There's even the option to switch the internal operating voltage from 9V to 18V, providing greater headroom and a more open feel, particularly useful if you prefer lower-gain settings or play with higher-output pickups.
