Product Overview

Award-Winning Tower Series

The NH-U14S series are the latest version of Noctua’s award-winning NH-U14 coolers. First introduced in 2005, the NH-U series has become a standard choice for premium quality quiet CPU coolers and has won more than 400 awards and recommendations from leading international hardware websites and magazines.

100% RAM Compatibility

Thanks to its slim design with only 45mm fin depth, the coolers will not overhang the RAM slots even with two fans installed. This gives the user full access to the memory modules on all current CPU sockets and guarantees 100% compatibility with tall heatspreaders or optional memory fans. NH-U12S can only be used with RAM modules of up to 40mm height on these boards. Please consult the compatibility list for details.

Excellent Overall Compatibility

The coolers are short enough to fit most modern mid-end or high-end tower cases. Measuring 125mm wide, the coolers stay clear of the top PCIe slot on standard ATX or Micro-ATX motherboards, ensuring best compatibility with SLI and CrossFire setups.

Premium Quality Fans

Recommended by more than 150 hardware publications and thousands of enthusiasts world-wide, the Noctua’s premium quality fans are renowned to combine superb static pressure, excellent heatsink performance and surprising quietness of operation. The NH-U14S is supplied with the NF-A15 fan.

PWM Support and Low-Noise Adaptor

Both fans supplied with the coolers support PWM for convenient automatic speed control through the mainboard. In addition, the maximum fan speed can be reduced using the supplied Low-Noise Adaptor for even quieter operation.

Anti-Vibration Pads and Fan-Clips for Second Fan

For users who want to achieve even better performance by adding a second optional NF-F12 and NF-A15, the fans are available to create a push/pull setup. The coolers include fan clips and an extra set of custom-designed anti-vibration pads that allow to off-set the rear fan by 5mm to improve acoustics in dual-fan mode.

SecuFirm2 Mounting System

Noctua’s SecuFirm2 mounting systems have become synonymous with quality, safety and ease of use. Supporting Intel LGA115x (LGA1150, LGA1155, LGA1156), LGA2011, LGA2066 and AMD (AM3+, AM2+, FM1, FM2), the SecuFirm2 mounting included with the coolers guarantees perfect contact pressure and maximum convenience on all current sockets.

Compatibility with Past and Future Sockets

Complying with the open SecuFirm standard, the coolers can be made compatible with the older LGA1366 and LGA775 sockets using the optional NM-I3 mounting kit, which is provided by Noctua free of charge. If technically possible, Noctua will also provide upgrade kits for future sockets.

NT-H1 Thermal Compound

Having received more than 100 awards and recommendations from hardware journalists around the world, Noctua’s NT-H1 is a proven professional grade TIM solution that provides minimum thermal resistance, excellent ease of use and outstanding reliability.

6 Years Warranty

Noctua products are renowned for their impeccable quality and outstanding longevity. Like all Noctua fans, the supplied NF-F12 and NF-A15 feature an MTBF rating of more than 150,000 hours and the entire package comes with a full six years manufacturer’s warranty.

• Full RAM compatibility on LGA2011 & LGA2066.

Intel Branding Part I
Intel Branding Part I
Date Issued: 1st Jul 2009

Intel’s been on a mission of late. That mission revolves around grouping and standardising key technologies under various banners that are designed to ensure hardware compatibility and consumer ease of use. We’ll take a closer look at three such technologies that fall under the headings of Centrino, Viiv, and vPro, respectively.

The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke.

There’s been a lot of hype about Intel’s Core 2 recently, even since they launched Core in fact. Words like Conroe, Badaxe and Allendale have been flying around. The bottom line is that Core 2 is the name of Intel’s latest line of CPUs, based on a new micro-architecture, designed for speed and efficiency.

Anybody who has been near their share of computer systems will appreciate that not all systems make the same amount of noise. There are a number of reasons for why this is so. Firstly, a computer makes noise for different reasons. Generally, anything mechanical is going to make noise.

Noctua NH-U14S Ultra-Quiet Slim CPU Cooler, 1x 140mm NF-A15 PWM Fan, Copper Heatpipes, Aluminium Fins, Intel/AMD is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very quite and effective It's ugly but you can't fault the performance. The CPU is cool and I can't hear a thing. It is AM4 compatible by the way. I got this for a Ryzen 9 3900X and it worked out of the box. You don't need a special Ryzen version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Cooler works well Cooling a i7 7700 @4,5, ambient room temp @23C CPU idles at 27c.Under load (Real Bench) runs at 45c after one hour. It's better than my old H100i, and a lot quieter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent quality and provides pretty good cooling This is a well made, sturdy cooler, that will far exceed what any stock cooler could offer you. Noctua do a fairly odd colour scheme, but their products are extremely well made, and keep my i7 6700k nice and cool (4.2ghz OC'd). I've hit the 60's under load doing tasks like video editing/rendering and playing CPU intensive games like Arma. For the most part however, it hovers at around 40-50 degrees C in most usage scenarios, and at 28-33 in idle. Overall, very very impressed in what an air cooler like this can do. One tip though, be careful when working inside the case as it is very easy to brush the heatsink radiator and bend some of the fins as they are very delicate. Just keep that in mind whilst building!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Cooler This cooler is incredible. With my i7 4790k @ 4.7GHz with 1.301 volts it stays around 80°c in AIDA64. The quality of the cooler is also great, with very thick and strong mounting mechanisms and a completly unblemished array of heat fins. The fan stays completely silent on the desktop and is almost inaudible in games, even in AIDA64 it is quiet, and I'm not using the low noise adapter. The cooler does not interfear with my RAM and I have every slot filled with G.Skill RipjawsX. The one tiny complaint I have is that is is advertised as being "smaller". Smaller than what? A house?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top quality cooler bought to replace my thermalright macho 120 rev b which came with no backplate.this cooler uses amd stock backplate fx 8350.gigabyte motherboard and a fractal design arc midi 2 case fits in beautifully and misses all my ram slots.using core temp or hwmonitor idle temp under 10c and playing battlefield 4 on high with a msi gtx980 of 30c.really nice quality cooler with nice fan and really quite.should last me years
Date published: 2015-11-09
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product Came in a massive box, took a bit of time installing but got there in the end. It's very silent and still keeps it cool, even at full speed it's very quite.
Date published: 2015-08-17
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very quiet and keeps cpu very cool Great product, no reservations and negatives as of yet.

Will this fit inside LN64930. with LN66322?

Asked by: rasul972
Yes, easily, I would not recommend using large profile RAM if you intend to populate all 4 slots though, Corsair LPX would be a good RAM choise.

Is this AM4 compatible? It doesn't say on specs.

Asked by: PodRider
Yes it's the latest version with AM4 compatibility listed. I got this for a recent Ryzen build.
