T-style with a P90 twistThe JET JT-300 P90 takes the familiar T-style guitar and gives it a bit more attitude with a P90 in the neck position. Paired with a traditional single-coil at the bridge, it covers considerably more ground than the usual two-single-coil setup, moving from thicker, more muscular neck tones through to the sharper attack and bite you'd expect from a T-style bridge pickup. The body is made from roasted poplar and finished here in Candy Red, with a Canadian roasted maple neck and roasted maple fingerboard. The neck uses a Modern C profile with a 9.5" radius, 25.5" scale and 22 frets, giving the JT-300 a familiar feel that works equally well for chord work, riffs and lead playing.

The pickup combination is where this guitar really earns its place. The neck P90 has the thicker, more forceful character you'd expect from a P90, making it particularly useful for warmer rhythm parts, bluesy leads and anything that benefits from a bit more midrange weight. Switch to the bridge single-coil and the character changes considerably, bringing in more snap, clarity and cut. The middle position gives you a useful blend of both. Controls are kept deliberately simple with a master volume, master tone and three-way selector. There's no need to wade through a complicated switching system — you've got three distinct pickup combinations and the tone control is right there when you need to take the edge off or open things up.

A fixed, string-through hardtail bridge keeps the hardware straightforward and gives the JT-300 a solid platform for bends, heavier picking and regular gigging. Chrome machine heads and hardware complete the specification, while the polymer fibre nut and double-action truss rod make sensible provision for future setup work. The JT-300 P90 is a good option if you like the feel and immediacy of a T-style guitar but without the restrictions. The P90 adds a noticeably different voice at the neck, while the bridge single-coil keeps the familiar bite and definition that makes this style of guitar so useful.
