Jet - JPB300 Bass Guitar
(Green)

Jet JPB305 Green

classic looks and feel, modern power and playabilityThe JET JPB-300 takes the familiar P-bass formula and gives it a few well-judged modern touches. A roasted poplar body is paired with a Canadian roasted maple neck, rosewood fingerboard and two PB-style pickups, making this a straightforward passive bass with plenty of familiar ground under your fingers. The 34" scale neck uses a Modern C profile with a 12" radius rosewood fingerboard, 20 frets and a 1.5" nut. It's a comfortable, familiar set of dimensions for a four-string bass, with the slightly flatter radius giving the JPB-300 a nice balance between traditional feel and modern playability. A double-action truss rod also gives you useful adjustment for keeping the neck properly dialled in over time.

JET has gone for roasted poplar for the body and Canadian roasted maple for the neck. The roasting process is a practical choice here, giving the instrument a stable, well-seasoned feel while the combination of materials keeps the overall specification a little more interesting than you'd normally expect from a bass at this price. The electronics keep things refreshingly simple. Two PB-style pickups are controlled independently with separate volume controls, alongside a master tone. That gives you plenty of scope to balance the two pickups to taste, from a fuller blend through to favouring one position for a different emphasis, without getting buried in switches and active circuitry.

The hardware follows the same straightforward approach, with vintage-style chrome machine heads and a two-point, four-saddle bridge. The bone nut is another useful touch, while D'Addario strings are fitted from the factory. Finished in Green with a red tortoise pickguard, the JPB-300 has plenty of classic P-bass character without simply trying to replicate a vintage instrument. The JPB-300 is ultimately a very easy bass to get on with: familiar dimensions, passive electronics, sensible hardware and a few upgraded construction details. It's equally at home as a first proper bass, a reliable gigging instrument or simply another four-string for players who prefer the straightforward approach.

At A Glance • Roasted Poplar Body – Modern take on the classic P-style bass design.
• Canadian Roasted Maple Neck – Comfortable Modern C profile with a 12" radius rosewood fingerboard.
• Dual PB-Style Pickups – Passive pickup setup with plenty of familiar P-bass character.
• 34" Scale & 20 Frets – Traditional long-scale dimensions with a comfortable playing feel.
• Bone Nut & 2-Point Bridge – Sensible hardware specification with useful setup and intonation adjustment.
