Blackmagic HyperDeck Extreme Control: Complete Control

Powerful ControlBlackmagic Design’s HyperDeck Extreme 8K is a powerful tool for capturing and storing native 8K or below footage for use at a later date. However, as powerful as it is, sometimes you need something a little more accurate to control it. This is where the HyperDeck Extreme Control steps in.
Recording Media Options

Retro ChicEquipped with a more traditional button layout and look, the Control provides video control, HyperDeck control and small editing functions to get footage out of the HyperDeck faster for pumping into a vision mixer or a quick edit.
Light EditingThe light editing functions are perfect for the HyperDeck’s archival capabilities, allowing you to cut off the useless bits of a tape or old footage for a cleaner look when beaming it onto a server for playback over a streaming service.
Editing works like your traditional video editor, with in and out points, with options to delete them and trim footage. Press in, then find your out point and hit edit for an instantaneous clip to be produced from what you’ve set.
Controls on the Control

Jog, ShuttleThe dial on the front of the unit can be used to Jog or Shuttle about a recording, while a full timecode display sits to allow you accurate knowledge where you are even down to the frame.
Multiple Decks If you have multiple broadcast decks in action at once, you can actually control up to 8 of them with the HyperDeck Control. Playback and Record can be controlled independently of each other on different decks, which even works with 8 different HyperDeck Extremes!
Legacy Preservation

Convert to Modern FormatsThe HyperDeck can be utilised to preserve legacy programming, combined with the Extreme Control, allows you to take in legacy media (Betacam SP, 1-inch C format, Digital Betacam, etc.), which can be fed through to a Teranex for conversion to higher quality formats in an incredibly simple method. With both components in place, you can set in and out points, with basic editing to get the exact start and stop times needed.
Use Your Deck

RS-422Blackmagic Design love being compatible with everything, not just their own kit, which is why the HyperDeck Extreme is RS-422 protocol compliant, allowing it to be accessed and used in any control desk that runs on it!

The new WorkflowOn Blackmagic’s end, utilise this with the new ATEM Constellation 8K for a perfect master recording at the native 8K, then save it to where it needs to go via the MultiDock 10G over USB-C. Once it’s done, take the footage straight from the HyperDeck via FTP, onto the PC and into DaVinci Resolve or your favourite video editing software.
