Gibson - Les Paul 70s Deluxe Gold Top
A 70s Classic ReturnsFirst released in 1969, the Deluxe saw the introduction of the Mini Humbucker™ to the Les Paul™ lineup. Mini Humbuckers retain the hum-free performance of their full-sized cousins but with a somewhat clearer and brighter tonality. The new Deluxe has features that were inspired by those early models from the 1970s, with a non-weight relief mahogany body and bound maple top, a bound mahogany neck with a Rounded C profile, vintage-style Keystone tuners, a Graph Tech® nut, and a traditional Les Paul control layout with 2 Volume and 2 Tone controls hand-wired with Orange Drop® capacitors.

1969: A Game-Changing Innovation
the mini humbuckerWhen the original Les Paul Deluxe models hit the thriving scene in 1969, Gibson introduced a game-changing innovation: the mini humbucker. Designed to fit into a P-90-sized slot, these pickups offered the same noise-canceling benefits of a full-sized humbucker but with noticable tonal advantages.
The mini humbucker's tighter magnetic field results in a brighter, more articulate sound that cuts through mixes with ease—ideal for both studio recordings and live performances. Inside, the control assembly is meticulously handwired with precision-matched potentiometers and Orange Drop capacitors, ensuring that the Les Paul Deluxe delivers its signature tone in every setting, even when dialing back the volume.
