Fractal Design Define 7 XL Black Gaming PC Case
Re-defining CapacityIntroducing the Define 7 XL, setting a new standard from what you should expect from a full tower chassis in terms of modularity, flexibility and ease of use. With a dual-layout interior, industrial sound damping and massively versatile layout supporting the largest E-ATX and enterprise boards, multiple GPU setups, crazy outlandish water loops and almost two dozen storage devices (in storage layout), you'll be hard pressed to find a limit to to what you can do with your builds in the Define 7 XL.
Limited only by your Imagination
Heavily Optimised Modular Dual Layout Design Fractal Designs have been back to the drawing-board with the define 7 XL, reaching all new heights with a new dual layout design featuring a new top & front panel design, tool-less push-to-lock top latching side panels and a new filtration system, switch between open layout and storage layout depending on your needs freeing up space for greater cooling/greater storage. take advantage of the ultra slim Nexus 2+ fan hub and connect up to three PWM fans and six 3-pin fans and use the extensive cable management along the edge of the case to keep things neat and tidy.
New Milestone in top panel design The all new top panel design for the define 7 XL allows the top cover and cooling bracket to be completely removed to give you complete open access to both sides of the board from almost any angle, this amazing feature has also been improved with the inclusion of an interchangeable top cover that has been made far less complex than previous generations by removing all moving parts and plastic inserts to give you more durable and easy to install one-part steel covers, you can now simply pull to remove the solid sound damped cover and replace it with the included ventilated panel for additional cooling support.
Re-Defined Front Panel All new annodised aluminium cover curves to wrap panel edges and give the define 7 a smoother front profile. The front panel now houses hinges with magnetic latching that makes the process of opening and closing the panel much easier and an easy to use reversible hinge has been added to ensure changing the door can be done efficiently and easily. Finally the ODD bracket can be removed, flipped and reinstalled to extend fan rails all the way to the top to provide room for the installation of 4x120mm front fans.
Robust Front I/OThe front panel I/O has had an upgrade too for your convenience including a total of 5 USB ports consisting of, 1x USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C with fast charging and transfer speeds up to 10Gbps, 2x USB 3.0 ports and 2x USB 2.0, Fractal have ensured you will always have space to plug in those peripherals.
Take a Peek Inside
Superb airflow and cooling options The Define 7 XL Full Tower includes three dynamic X2 140mm fans, ensuring optimal airflow via two intake fans and a single exhaust, with a total of 9x 140mm or 11x 120mm fan mounts numerous airflow paths are available and for those of you that prefer to water cool, the Define 7 XL has you covered with radiator support up to 480mm in the front or in the top and 280mm in the base depending on whether or not the optical disk drive is installed, The removable PSU shroud inlays act as a pump/reservoir/drive mount using the included multi-bracket or can be removed to free up additional space at the front for large radiators.
Multitude of Storage options Part of the brilliance of having a modular open layout system is the amount of mounting options available to you and for storage Fractal Designs haven't held back with a whopping 8x 3.5"/2.5" expandable up to 18! 2x 2.5" dedicated SSD mounts expandable up to 5! and 2x 5.25" Drive bays, the ball really is in your court when it comes to storage options. The trays Fractal Designs have used are sturdy steel trays fitted with vibration-damping grommets and a new universal multi-bracket enables you to convert any standard 120mm fan position to a HDD/SDD, Pump or reservoir mount, build it your way.
Clean Cable ManagementFractal Designs have put large amounts of work into an effective cable management system for the Define 7, a detachable PSU cable helps to conceal excess cables under the shroud itself, there are integrated cable guides to make routing cables much simpler and cleaner there are 5 fractal branded velcro straps and a massive additional 16 tie-down locations, with a total of 30mm cable routing space and sleeved front I/O wiring keeping this case neat and tidy is a seamless process.
Easy Cleaning and Maintenance
take pride in your buildDefine 7 makes maintenance of your PC fun, efficient and simple with high airflow nylon filters integrated on the front, top, and base with full PSU coverage and front access for easy-to-clean convenience. Even if you decided to switch out your industrial sound damping steel top panel with the included ventilated panel, this is filtered also to reduce the chance of particulates making it into your case and with the new chassis design opening up to full expose the case interior there really is no excuse for not keeping the Define 7 XL Clean.

There's more choice than ever before, but which computer case is right for you and which features should you look out for?
Date Issued: 20th Oct 2008
The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke.
Date Issued: 19th Jun 2008
Watercooling for the PC has been around for years in some form or another, for at least as long as Scan have been in business, with basic physics defining why you want to use it. That means for air cooling, to cope with increasing temperature in the heatsink you need to move the air across it faster. That is why thermostatically controlled fans in your PC will turn faster the hotter something gets.
