The Mustang quickly rose above from being a mere ‘budget’ model upon it’s initial release, to become an icon of the alt rock scene in the 90’s, made famous by luminaries such as Nirvana and Sonic Youth.
Utterly perfect for garage rock and indie rock, the Mustang 90 is a superb reissue for this classic shape. Sporting a whole bunch of upgrades and cool features, alongside classic Fender tones, this historic guitar is made for the guitarists who want to do things their own way, in their own style.

Classic Fender Tones
ICONIC FENDER CHIME!Versatile in tone, these P-90 pickups ensure each and every note and chord sings with classic Fender tones. Low in output, these pickups feature a balanced voice with the classic Fender chime in the upper harmonics, cutting mids and warm lows for voice which effortlessly cuts through the mix, whilst the master volume and tone controls, alongside the 3-way pickup switch are there to help you tweak your sound to your liking.
WILD SUSTAIN!Fender included a six-saddle string-through-body hardtail bridge on the Player Mustang which wildly increases sustain, whilst the bent steel saddles aid in adding a little ‘cut’ to your overall tone, each of these are able to be adjusted incrementally too.
Due to the smaller 24” scale, this adds a touch more warmth and thickness to the overall tone of the Player Mustang, resulting in a ‘slinker’ playing feel and ensuring it’s far easier to perform multi-tone bends.
