Adorned with quality hardware from top to bottom, the FC-BPSHH has been supercharged with a set of genuine Wilkinson pickups, capable of searing hot tones, utterly perfect for raucous blues licks, red hot rock n roll or even the most punishing of heavy metal tones - the inclusion of these renowned pickups is quite simply something unseen on a guitar at this price point.

Every Fairclough guitar will leave the workshop at Scan in perfect playable condition, having been checked for cosmetic or physical defects, then given a full 22-point setup before despatch by our techs, who will send you a video of your actual guitar on the bench.

Because we work directly with a factory who manufacture for many of the big-name brands, we can keep affordable guitars affordable, with no middle men to take a cut or marketing budget to pay for. Direct from the factory to our workshop at Scan for thorough checks and setup, then on to you. Unlike factory direct brands at other stores, you won’t have to pay to to get your instrument setup (then wait to get it back) and upgrade entry level pickups, as we’ve effectively done that for you already, courtesy of our partnership with Wilkinson (whose guitar kits are a UK exclusive at Scan).
We would estimate that this saves you around £120 per instrument.

slick black hardware throughoutOne of the most striking features of the FC-BPSHH is the sleek satin black finish and the red tortoise-shell pickguard which accompanies it. It’s a bold, contrasting look and one that emanates attitude and style. Each of the Wilkinson HSS pickups sit neatly within the pickguard for a streamlined and tidy aesthetic.

Despite the aforementioned modern appointments, Fairclough kept things traditional simple when it comes to the controls and their layout. You’ll find a single volume pot and dual tone pots to help sculpt your tone and dial in any manner of tones you so desire.

Steve Fairclough has been a professional guitar player for the last 40 years.
During that time he has had experience of teaching & performing all over the world, from Europe to North America, from South America to Japan.

In the early ‘90’s he founded the Guitar Academy in the North of England, Throughout the 1990’s he was the Demonstrator for Takamine and Parker Guitars working across Europe and the USA on a steady diet of tours, clinics and concert shows that brought him many accolades as a ‘Guitarists Guitarist’.

He has variously been patron and course leader at the International Guitar Festival in Bath, England, he has written columns for many UK guitar magazines and used to write the examination pieces for the Young Acoustic Guitarist of the Year competitions. More recently he has held the post of European Ambassador for Fishman transducers, and has been a consultant to Scan Pro Audio, a division of the mighty Scan computers.

Throughout these times, he had many requests from parents or first time buyers about which guitar he would recommend for a beginner or intermediate player.

In Steve’s words “I couldn’t tell them. I didn’t have a good answer. It seemed that all the ‘cheap’ guitars were made to a price point with no consideration for the slightest bit of quality, and the only acceptable guitars I could recommend were from the ‘bigger’ names of the guitar world and were cost prohibitive to a beginner.”

Steve identified some fairly basic points which he knew must be satisfied if he had any chance of creating his own brand of high value guitars. A blueprint for a high value, low cost range of guitars that dealers, teachers and parents can have confidence in recommending or buying.

With this latest range, Fairclough have extended their catalogue to include some modern Rock and Metal types of model, as well as traditional body shapes and specs. Whichever model you choose, however, you can be sure that the quality and value for money is second to none.

It doesn’t matter what the value of the guitar, if you buy it from us we take extra steps to ensure you are completely satisfied with your instrument. Each guitar goes through a 22 step professional guitar set up process to make sure your new instrument sounds as the manufacturer intended it to play.

This means that your guitar may take an extra day to deliver, just so we can get these checks done. You’ll receive email updates once your guitar is ready for despatch.
