7" ELE Low-Frequency Driver
the pro choice for nearfield monitoringThe drivers used in ADAM Audio’s S range are the direct result of years upon years of in-depth research and development and take full advantage of the very latest advances in technology. Specifically designed for the S series, ADAM’s Extended Linear Excursion (ELE) bass drivers utilise the Symmetrical Magnet Assembly (SMA) to showcase optimised low-frequency reproduction with boosted dynamic range and free from unwanted colouration.
The ELE driver showcases a rigid, whilst low-mass honeycomb driver cone, a super-efficient, self-cooling linear magnet assembly, linear suspension and damping systems with a low-loss speaker surround, a vented symmetrical voice coil, and an optimised driver chassis/basket design. The S2V’s 7” woofer furthers response down to a lowly 35Hz, placing the S2V as a great choice for nearfield monitoring applications in control rooms and mastering suites without the requirement for a sub.
'S-ART' Tweeter
hand-made in berlinRather than producing sound using a piston-type diaphragm like regular loudspeakers, ADAM Audio’s S-ART folded-ribbon tweeter utilises a pleated diaphragm capable of shifting air 4x faster than the folds themselves are being moved. Hand made to the strictest tolerances, the S-ART tweeter brings impressive highs up to 50kHz and adds to the sound field with spectacular details, authentically conveying each nuance of your source.
Due to it’s handcraftsmanship and stringent testing process, the S-ART driver is a rare occurrence in todays automated mass production realm.
Custom DSP Engine
extremely linear responseUsing the very latest SHARC processing technology, the S series’ custom DSP optimises the speaker’s loudspeaker crossovers to offer linear response across the entire frequency range and offers user sound-tailoring EQ alongside room tuning and voicing functionality.
The DSP also takes care of limiter-based high-frequency driver protection, processes the signals from the AES3 digital inputs and enables different expansion options. Software updates are available and can be undertaken simply through the USB port.
Authoritative ICE PowerProfessional monitors like ADAM Audio’s S2V require serious power, and the S2V features a powerful 350-watt PWM ICE Power bi-amplification system. A 300W Class D amplifier powers the S2V’s bass unit, whilst a further 50w Class D amplifier takes dedicated care of the S-ART treble driver.
