One Pedal to Rule Them All The H9 Max. A true ‘game changer’ in every sense of the word. A complete pedalboard in one tidy, easy to use and simple to understand stompbox. Eventide’s new flagship pedal is packed full of their studio grade reverbs, delays, chorus, modulation and distortion effects. With this pedal you have full access to iconic sounds used by the world’s top engineers and musicians such as Steve Vai, Frank Zappa, Richard Devine and Suzanne Ciana. The H9 has 99 factory presets as standard. As if this isn’t enough, try using the free H9 control app from your Bluetooth equipped device to connect with the H9 and download a further 500 presets direct to the pedal.
100's of Effects, 1 Simple Interface
You may be thinking, ‘There isn’t many physical controls’ on the H9 once you’ve factored in just how much this machine is capable of. Eventide have kept a tidy interface on the H9, to make controlling the desired effects simpler, this can be controlled via an expression pedal, as well as the built in Bluetooth capabilities which enable the user to edit and control via iPad/iPhone. Other users may prefer the desktop/laptop approach by connecting via mini-USB to your Apple computer.
An abundance of options The H9 is built in a tough all-metal chassis, perfectly at home in the safe space of the studio, and equally as comfortable on the road. The main display is provided by a clear LED display which shows the current selected preset, and a further 5 LED backlit buttons ‘X,Y,Z, Hot Knob and Presets’ which allow quick access to your favourite presets/saved functions. The footswitches found at the bottom are also accompanied by LED lights to signal whether they are active or not, these also act as tap-tempo switches when necessary and can switch on the H9’s tuning function. Eventide included the option to switch between bypass functionalities too, bypass can be set to ‘Relay’ which is a hard-wired bypass, or ‘Active’ which the tail end of effects isn’t immediately cut off when switched on. There are options for connectivity too, with TRS in’s and out’s, and 5 pin DIN’s for MIDI in and out.
The 'H9 control' app The free to download accompanying app ‘H9 Control’ provides an easy to use remote control over all of the H9’s functionalities. Here you can fine tune presets, filters and EQ’s to a degree not possible before. The app also allows the user to name your own custom presets so these can be easily accessed on stage thanks to the H9's brightly lit LED screen. Furthermore, this is the place to download over 500 presets from Eventide which will provide you with all the tools you could need.
Featured Algorithms and Presets
Eventide’s H9 Max ships with 51 effect algorithms and over 500 presets available using the H9 control app, including pitch shifters, delays, fuzz’s, chorus and almost anything else you can think of. Here’s a brief few to give you an idea of just what there is to play with.
Pitchfuzzis a multi-effect algorithm that combines fuzz, three pitch shifters and two delays for an amazing range of tonal shapes. It’s the equivalent of 3 high-quality effects pedals in a single stompbox.
Space Timeis a multi-effects algorithm combining Modulation, two Delays, and Reverb into one, easy to use effect. Unique to SpaceTime is the ability to route the Delays and Reverb in series or parallel after modulation.
Sculpt is a multi-band distortion algorithm that carves the audio signal into high and low frequency bands and then allows different levels of gain and filtering for each.
