First Generation of Hard RockThe Epiphone SG Standard from the new Inspired by Gibson Collection, recreates the legendary 1960s classic that powered the first generation of hard rock and heavy metal bands including The Who, Cream, AC/DC, and Black Sabbath. The guitar features the historic SG profile with “batwing” pickguard, a pair of Epiphone's Alnico Classic PRO™ humbuckers, and 18:1 ratio Epiphone Deluxe Tuners.
This Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Original model also has the Kalamazoo headstock, rolled neck for a comfortable feel, GraphTech® NuBone™ nut, era-appropriate wiring, and CTS pots. Optional hardshell or EpiLite Case is available. Available in Heritage Cherry, Ebony, and Alpine White gloss finishes.

Alnico Classic PRO Humbuckers
Decorated from top to bottom with premium hardware and electronics, Epiphone’s SG Standard has been expertly crafted for peak performance. Twin Alnico Classic PRO Humbuckers push the Alnico V magnets to their very limits, with roaring mids and highs to push out some true rock n roll power, glistening clean tones and rich jazz sounds.
Epiphone included a classic stopbar tailpiece, LockTone ABR Tune-o-matic bridge and Deluxe tuning pegs to deliver on unmatched tuning stability, whilst high-grade CTS electronics help ensure the magnificent performance of this utterly classic guitar.
Huge Warmth And Rich Resonance
SlimTaper mahogany neckDue to the SG Standard’s all-mahogany body, this helps massively in delivering huge warmth and rich resonance with vast depth, which truly belies the lightweight nature of the SG.
Epiphone included a SlimTaper mahogany neck which sits beautifully in the fretting hand, this comfortable neck is topped with an Indian Laurel fingerboard which aids in bringing out those highs to help cut through the mix.
