featuring a simply stunning quilted topThe Epiphone Les Paul Standard 60s Quilt brings the classic late-'50s/early-'60s Les Paul formula into a seriously good-looking modern package. Finished in Trans Blue, the figured quilted maple top gives the traditional single-cut design a more distinctive look, while underneath you'll find the familiar combination of a mahogany body and maple cap. The neck follows the feel you'd expect from a 60s-style Les Paul, with a SlimTaper 60s profile, 24.75" scale and 12" fingerboard radius. The 22-fret rosewood fingerboard is finished with pearloid trapezoid inlays, while the set mahogany neck and long-tenon construction give the guitar the solid, planted feel associated with the Les Paul design.
For amplification, Epiphone fits a pair of ProBucker humbuckers, with a ProBucker 2 in the neck and the slightly hotter ProBucker 3 at the bridge. Individual volume and tone controls with CTS potentiometers give you plenty of control over the two pickups, from warm neck sounds through to the thicker, more aggressive bridge position. Hardware is equally familiar, with a LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop bar, Grover Rotomatic tuners and a Graph Tech nut. It's a straightforward, dependable setup that keeps the Les Paul fundamentals intact while providing solid tuning stability and easy intonation adjustment.
The result is a Les Paul that feels properly rooted in the 60s design, but with a more contemporary finish and an accessible price point.
