EIZO - 'FlexScan EV2457 Monitor'
Welcome to a New WorkplaceThe office monitor stands out due to its narrow bezel and its compact, attractive design which saves desk space. In terms of image quality and ergonomics, the 24.1” screen with 16:10 aspect ratio caters for sophisticated computer workstations with the highest demands. Anti-reflection technology and Auto EcoView ensure a glare-free view of the screen.
Perfect for Multi-Monitor Setups
Ultra-slim. Ultra-smooth.Whether it’s in sophisticated black or pristine, eye-grabbing white: The ultra-thin design with its bezel of only 1 mm and its completely flat and smooth front side is truly impressive. A thin black glass frame with a width of just 5.2 mm is all that separates the display and bezel from one another on both sides and the top. The side profile and the back of the monitor also have a slimline, delicate appearance. The monitor is really something to behold, giving you plenty of space for your imagination.
Multi-monitor solutions without problemsThanks to the signal input and output, you can link several monitors through their DisplayPort interface. This means that you can realise multi-monitor solutions with the greatest of ease – without labourious and excessive cabling.
Controls integrated into bezelElectrostatic switches are integrated into the front of the EV3895-BK instead of mechanical buttons. This ensures ease of use while also giving the monitor an extremely elegant look. The speakers and all the controls are also built into the bezel, pointing forward in the direction of the user. They are fully integrated into the monitor’s flat, nearly frameless design to offer an excellent user experience.
Cutting Edge Connectivity
One monitor, many portsIt doesn’t get simpler than this: Most end devices, such as PCs, laptops and cameras, can be connected directly to the monitor, thanks to its wide range of signal interfaces. The screen also features four USB type A 3.1 ports. This allows different devices such as mice, keyboards and headsets to be connected. This makes your everyday work easier and guarantees a tidy desk.
Perfectly organizedThe monitor ships with a cable holder, which ensures a clean desk and prevents messy cabling.
Intelligent Software Solutions
Software and ease of useImpressive features mean greater comfort. EIZO's intelligent software solutions and intuitive controls enable you to easily manage your settings as well as operate and deploy the display as a single-screen or multi-monitor solution at work each day.
Preset Colour ModesThe monitor has a dedicated LAN port to ensure a stable wired network connection. Laptops and PCs require only one USB-C cable to be connected to the EV3895-BK to gain network access via the monitor. This is particularly advantageous for laptops that do not have a LAN connection and allows for fast and stable data transfer, which is required for video conferences, for example. As a network device the monitor has its own MAC address.
Operation made easy thanks to the Button GuideThe Button Guide provides all functions at a glance. Touching the button is enough and the screen will show all functions and the corresponding control panel.
Screen InStyleIn addition to the on-screen menu, you can conveniently control the EV2457 by using the Screen InStyle software on a Windows PC. The configuration options include colour reproduction, energy saving options, and ergonomic functions that allow you to reduce the blue light portion (Circadian Dimming). The Screen InStyle software allows the user to apply the settings to all connected screens when using a multi-screen system.
Screen InStyle Server is a server application that allows system administrators to centrally manage and control monitors on which Screen InStyle is installed and which are connected to the network. This optimises power consumption and simplifies monitor asset management.
Monitor Configurator for
cross-network settingsReduced workload for network administrators: The software allows you to configure multiple monitors uniformly in a single step – via a USB connection. This saves you time and ensures you have the same settings on all screens. The configuration can be saved as an XML file and transferred to clients.
Precise Colour Control and Image Quality
Image QualityThere are many things that go into creating a high-precision/high-contrast, bright and crisp screen. EIZO constantly develop our monitor technology, use only high-end materials and carefully calibrate every single monitor during production. As a result of these efforts, you can always rely on excellent image reproduction.
Maximum image quality thanks to the IPS panelThe monitor is capable of all three key elements of excellent image quality: excellent resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, maximum contrast of 1000:1, and stable brightness of up to 350 cd/m2. That means you will experience razor-sharp text contours, brilliant graphics, and clear images. Thanks to the high-quality IPS panels with LED backlight, contrasts and colours remain stable from every viewing angle.
Precise colour controlAn image can only be perfect if the colours are, too. This is why EIZO office monitors have a 10-bit look-up table at a minimum, which allows the colour information to be assigned much more precisely than with conventional 8-bit LUTs. The finest colour gradations ensure that gradients are always perfectly displayed, while also offering customised adjustment options. For example, you can adjust the white balance from 4000 K to 10000 K in 500-K intervals.
OVERDRIVE TO QUICKLY CHANGE IMAGESFast, faster, overdrive. The overdrive function accelerates switching time so that the grey-grey change takes only 5 ms on average. You can watch films and rapidly changing images without annoying afterglow.
ErgonomicsFlexScan monitors ensure computer workstations are more ergonomic. In addition to alleviating eye and back strain, the monitors also meet the user’s unique requirements. This is because EIZO don’t believe that you should have to adjust to your workstation – your workstation should adapt to your needs.
Auto EcoViewAt day, at night, bright, dark: No matter when and how you work, the Auto EcoView function continuously measures changes of the ambient light and optimises the monitor with ideal brightness values fully automatically by using a sensor. The benefits: Annoying glare is reduced, your eyes will not get tired as quickly. A special two-point control takes into account the brightest and darkest environment over the course of the day with the respectively desired screen brightness. Another advantage: Thanks to the automatic brightness adjustment, you will save up to 50% of your electricity costs in comparison to a monitor that is permanently operated at maximum brightness.
Of course, you can also continue to configure the monitor manually. EcoView Index is used for orientation on how environmentally friendly and economical your settings are.
Flicker freeTo help protect your eyes, EIZO has developed a hybrid technology to control the backlight. This combines the benefits of the otherwise standard PWM (pulse width modulation) and DC (direct current) control. The PWM control uses much higher frequencies than standard PWM methods. The result: a flicker-free viewing experience. Flickering is reduced down to absolute freedom from flickering, without impairing image quality or colour stability. In addition, the brightness can be set to less than 1% of the maximum value in darkly lit rooms. The benefit: Your screen remains free from glare even under these conditions.
EIZO FlexScan monitors are certified by TÜV Rheinland as flicker-free, emitting low quantities of blue light.
Anti-Glare CoatingThe EV2457 offers a surface with optimal anti-glare coating. By minimising glare from the spread of the reflected light, the anti-glare coating effectively protects your eyes from straining. This keeps your eyes from getting as tired and allows you to sit comfortably in front of the screen, without having to sit in a forced position to prevent glare.
Flexible base Ergonomic and stable: the adjustable stand focuses on ergonomics. You can rotate, swivel and tilt the monitor stand until you find the most comfortable setting for your back, neck and sitting posture. It features continuous height adjustment and can be lowered almost to the base plate of the stand, enabling you to position the top image line ergonomically right below your eye level.

Choosing a monitor is not an easy decision to make, and not just because of the large number of variations in resolution, refresh rates, sizes and connectivity options. There are also varying panel technologies used to form each display that need to be considered. These panel technologies can be grouped into three broad categories which cover the vast majority of monitors sold in the consumer market.

G-SYNC works in a surprisingly simple way - it calculates how long the present frame takes to compute and then, crucially, varies the refresh rate of the monitor to match. It works between a minimum of 33.3ms (30fps) and the maximum supported refresh of the display. The key takeaway here is that the graphics card and monitor are both synced up to one another - the monitor doesn't have the limitations imposed by a rigid, fixed-rate scanning routine.

Whether the broadcasters are going HD or not, TV sets and projectors are arriving thick and fast which claim to support higher resolutions than regular telly. But HDTV is far from just one standard – it incorporates a couple of different resolutions, two different scanning modes, and a number of different frame rates. In this article, we present a guide to what all the terms actually mean.

There’s a lot more to High Definition than just having the ability to run your screen at the right resolution. With more than one type of connection available, and the thorny subject of signal encryption to contend with, just because your monitor and graphics are capable of 1,920 x 1,080 or better does not necessarily mean they will be able to display HDTV in all its glory.
