Cort - Rithimic V
Cort’s Jeff Berlin signature 5 string boasts an alder body with an exquisite exotic wood top. Complimenting such a fine body, are a pair of Bartolini Jeff Berlin soapbar pickups, a beautiful Babicz FCH5 bridge and the Canadian hard maple neck just begs to be played.
'An Astonishing Instrument'
The Rithimic V oozes class, from the subtle Abalone inlays decorating the ebony fretboard, down to the Hipshot Ultralite Tuners made of cast zinc with aluminium string posts and mounting nuts. Every detail has been thought of here and it shows. All hardware on Berlin’s signature ‘V’ bass is adorned in gold, just adding to that elegant look radiating from this bass guitar.
The action is set low as one might expect from a Jeff Berlin signature model, the V comes with a DR Strings custom DDT set (Drop Down Tuning) which allows for smooth, comfortable playing with the added low B string. Jeff himself had this to say about his new signature 5 string. ‘After playing the same bass for so many years I was not sure that another builder could develop something that I would love. As soon as I played the very first Cort Rithimic bass, I was wowed. I could not believe how perfectly this bass turned out. This is an astonishing instrument that Cort has built for me’.
The Highest Specifications
The Rithimic V’s bridge utilizes ‘Full Contact Hardware Technology’ which is the reason behind the increased dynamic range, seemingly endless sustain and pitch stability. Adjustments to the action and intonation are secure, and couldn’t have been made easier. Jeff Berlin himself had this to say about the FCH technology, "Jeff Babicz re-invented the bass bridge and made it as necessary as my amp and my bass. I only play equipment if it sounds great, and I am only about tone and the resonance of tone, which is why the Babicz Bridge is on my bass".
Fitted with custom ‘Soapbar’ pickups from Barolini at the neck and bridge, designed by Jeff Berlin himself, these pickups are of split-coil design and due to their well-defined magnetic field aperture, are able to offer unparalleled clarity and tonal response. All of this of course can be adjusted to your suit your playing with the tone pot. The Rithimic V ships with DR DDT strings 40-120, to ensure string tension from low to high is optimum.
