Possibly the biggest guitar company that you've probably never heard of, Cort's Cor-Tek factory manufactures a selection of acoustic, electric and bass instruments for many of the worlds' leading brands, including one that starts with an F, one that starts with an I and a range for a certain Mr Smith. This means they really do know how to make great guitars and you get the benefit of there not being a big multinational marketing budget to be paid for. These are not budget guitars, they are great instuments that are fantastic value for money.

4 String Bass Guitars

Bar far the most common, 4 string bass guitars are typically tuned in EADG, matching the 4 lowest strings on a guitar accept they're an octave lower. They look similar in appearance to an electric guitar but have a longer scale length and the strings are much thicker in order to producer to lower tones.

5 String Bass Guitars

5 string Basses have an extra string, which can either be a Low B ora high C. This extra tonality makes them very useful in smaller combos or groups.
