The MegaRAID 9500 series is the industry’s first PCIe Gen 4.0 RAID adapter family, offering PCIe Gen 4.0 host and storage interfaces. The MegaRAID 9520-8i adapter, based on the SAS3808 PCIe 4.0 x8 IO Controller (IOC) device, delivers twice the performance of previous generations.
Leveraging the MegaRAID iMR entry RAID firmware, the 9520-8i supports JBOD mode, RAID 0, 1 and 10 without requiring the Reserved Memory Region Reporting (RMRR) structure. This means that upon startup, the 9520-8i does not claim host memory for the RAID functions and other background operations.
