Broadcom MegaRAID™ 9524-8i PCIe Gen 4.0 Adapter
The 9524-8i is Broadcom’s first M.2 form factor storage adapter. The adapter fits M.2 slots, providing support for up to eight drives leaving free the PCIe slot for higher performance applications.
Leveraging Broadcom’s MegaRAID iMR entry RAID firmware, the 9524-8i supports JBOD mode and RAID 0, 1 and 10 without requiring the Reserved Memory Region Reporting (RMRR) structure. The MegaRAID 9524-8i is powered by the SAS3808N on-chip memory to carry out the RAID and other necessary operations and allows for easy integration into system architectures that do not have a memory reservation capability to support a traditional iMR solution.
The adapters' Tri-Mode SerDes technology negotiates between speeds and protocols to seamlessly to enable the operation of NVMe, SAS or SATA devices in a single drive bay getting the most performance and flexibility out of any drive protocol.
