STEVE ROTHERY SIGNATURE EDITION BLADE RH-4

Swamp ash body finished in two tone sunburst
Steve Rothery is the guitarists guitarist. Since first joining Marillion in 1979, his instantly recognisable melody's and ethereal guitar tones have graced eighteen albums with Marillion and counting, not to mention his work with The Wishing Tree and his incredible solo album released in September 2014 entitled The Ghosts of Pripyat.
Hailed as one of the great progressive rock guitarists, he stands alongside the likes of Alex Lifeson and David Gilmour. A guitarist of this pedigree needs an instrument to match and this is where the Blade RH-4 comes in.
Purchased by Steve himself over two decades ago, his two tone sunburst maple neck RH-4 is never far from his side and more often than not it is in his hands providing him with the consistent tone and playability that Levinson Blade guitars supply.
The swamp ash body is weight graded and chosen by Gary Levinson personally to match the one- piece maple neck. This swamp ash body is then given the classic two tone sunburst of the original. The humbucker and two true single coils in combination with the VSC circuit provide the tone and variation that has kept Steve playing the RH-4 for over twenty years and counting.
Gary Levinson presented Steve Rothery with the first ever Blade RH-4 at a private launch of his guitar in Bolton on the 9th of November 2017. These guitars are now available to purchase in limited quantities made exactly to the same spec as Steve's own guitar.

More about our setup Process
Adjustable Tension Guide

Spring loaded Blade have a commitment to engineering excellence and the Adjustable Tension guide is no exception. The string guide is a spring loaded and fully adjustable. The guide balances perfectly the tension at the nut of the B and E string providing tuning stability even under heavy whammy bar use.
Falcon Tremolo

Patented double block system
This patented system is the pinnacle of engineering for traditional feeling tremolo systems. The trem system is set up flat to the body transferring every nuance and vibration the wood and strings have to offer enhancing sustain and attack instead of taking it away like a traditional tremolo system.
Thanks to a patented double block system you can uptrem with the system lying flat on the guitar. Deep bends will not detune your open strings and a broken string will not affect the tuning of the strings left behind. A pleasure to set up and smooth as silk to play with none of the limitations of a traditional system.
Guitar Component Quality

Push-Push Humbucker Split The perfect solution to splitting the humbucker to single coil with the least amount of effort. Pulling at a switch when playing always feels unnatural and awkward. The push push pot is smooth and simple. Push for humbucker, push again for single coil. Perfectly simple.

Tapered Neck Joint Beautifully sculptured neck joint allowing easier access to the upper register of the guitar neck. This tapered joint provides extra space for your hand giving you a more comfortable position increasing speed and accuracy.

The Variable Spectrum Control The Variable Spectrum Control (VSC) provides you with the tools to cut through traditional tonal limitations. The three position switch provides you with passive bypass in the middle position allowing your tone to stay pure and untouched. The other two user adjustable positions allow you to switch instantly from glassy sparkling highs to thick midrange leads in an instant. Experimentation with the bass, middle and treble controls within the VSC will allow you to fine tune and expand your tonal possibilities at the flick of a switch.
