Featuring independent audio connections you can also embed SDI audio from HDMI, AES/EBU or balanced analog audio inputs.
6G-SDI Ultra HD Models
Work with SD, HD and Ultra HDMost Mini Converter models feature 6G-SDI, making them compatible with all SD, HD and Ultra HD formats up to 2160p30! Ultra HD features a massive 3840 x 2160 frame size that’s 4 times the resolution of regular 1080 HD video. The 6G-SDI connections are multi-rate, so they are fully compatible with all of your existing SD and HD-SDI equipment, as well as Ultra HD. The advanced SDI connections automatically detect the input signal and switch formats as needed.

Process your audio separately or embeddedIn professional broadcast, post and live production workflows, the audio is just as important as the video. Blackmagic Mini Converters maintain the cleanest possible audio signal and always keep it in sync with your video! Mini Converters support embedded SDI and HDMI audio, and there are several models that let you separately embed or de-embed it to balanced analog or AES/EBU digital connections. Mini Converters support 24 bit analog and AES/EBU audio, and feature standard 1/4 inch audio jacks so you don't need custom cables.
Easy Control
Simple to Set up and updateChanging settings on Mini Converter's is as easy as using the built in function switches! This is great when you need to change settings quickly as there are no complicated menus to navigate. There’s even a printed switch diagram on each converter, so you never have to find the manual! You can also control settings using the included Converter Utility software by connecting the converter to any OS X or Windows computer! All models can be updated to the latest software via USB by simply downloading upgrades directly from the Blackmagic Design website and connecting the Mini Converter to your Mac or Windows computer! This means Mini Converters can be updated to include new video standards and technologies when they become available.
