Product Overview High-end CPU Cooler for the toughest demands

The Dark RockC1 range of coolers is designed for the enthusiastic PC user who expects a great deal from their computer: performance, reliability and a very quiet operation.

The be quiet! Dark Rock AdvancedC1 combines maximum cooling efficiency with a pleasantly quiet operation. With an extremely low noise level, efficient cooling is provided for gaming, multimedia and CAD systems even at maximum processing power. This CPU cooler is enhanced by the high-quality materials used, as well as its attractive design.

Extremely efficient
• The six three-dimensional moulded heat pipes work rapidly to transport the heat with the help of an oxygen-free copper layer (OFC) to the optimum point within the cooling lamellas.
• The single-tower layout with six heat pipes enables excellent heat dissipation within a small space.

Nice and quiet
• The 120-mm SilentWings PWM fan guarantees the best ratio of cooling efficiency to noise level.
• The wave-shaped contour of the cooling lamellas prevents noises and optimises the airflow.

High-quality materials
• The fan surfaces are coated in dark nickel.
• The brushed, fully aluminium cover protects the cooling lamellas.
• The stable backplate ensures a shockproof attachment, even when transporting the computer. Features • Maximum cooling efficiency, Delta T 10.9 @ 100 watt.
• Quiet operation with 1× Silent Wings PWM fan, 6.6–18.8 dB(A).
• Extremely efficient up to more than 180 watt.
• High-quality materials with dark nickel surfaces.

The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke.

Reviews
be quiet! Dark Rock Advanced C1, Single Tower CPU Cooler, 6 Heatpipes, 1x120mm PWM Fan, 180W TDP, for Intel/AMD CPUs is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A silent powerhouse of a cooler I've managed to overclock my 4960K to 4.6 GHz using this cooler, my maximum temp never exceeds 60c and it's whisper quite. I would recommend getting help with the installation as it would be muh smoother with a second pair of hands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good. Little bit hard to install. But very quiet cooler, and nice. I have a I 5 4690K CPU in CM HAF case. Temerature is 27-30 C/ 39-46 C/ not overlocked. Recommended.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but... It is not silent. Some of the reviews mislead me that the cooler is silent! It is quiet compared to other coolers, but I would not buy it again. I now ordered Noctua fans from Amazon, hopefully they will do better than the original be-quiet fan.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product but price was not the lowest. Looks great, performs well and is very silent. Scan's price could have been lower however the delivary was good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good temperatures but tricky to fit Keeps my AMD 8350 at 31 while idle and 45 when under load. A little tricky to fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps its cool under load! Looks good and does a great job of keeping your CPU cool no matter what the load. Fan seems to be quite and the CPU temperatures are kept very low, even when over clocking. A little tricky to fit due to the size but seems nice and secure once done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performs well, silently Really happy I opted for the be quiet! Dark Rock CPU cooler over others I was considering. It's really nicely designed and packaged and performs well -- keeping my CPU at 30-40 degrees with absolutely no noise at all. If you're using a mini-itx board (as I am), then -depending upon the board layout- the chances are you'll need low profile RAM and a PCI-e riser (if you want to use PCI-e of course). I've got a Gigabyte GA-Z77N-WIFI MB and the fan covers the PCI-e and RAM sockets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What can I really say Ive had this cooler going for 18 months now. Today its 24 degrees c outside, 28 degrees in my house, and core temp is telling me my OC'd 2500k (4.8 ghz) is sat idling (with firefox, itunes, skype and steam) at 43 degrees c. I can barely hear it (plugged in by PWM). Great cooling. Even better VFM

Questions & Answers

RAM Clearence

Hi, just wondering will i need low profile RAM or will my Corsair vengeance be too tall, a measurement would also be appreciated. -Thanks in advance Dom.
Asked by: Domm
Hi Dom I have Corsair Vengeance Low Profile RAM on a GA-Z77N-WIFI board and it's fine -- can even install the RAM after installing the heatsink. If you tell me which board you have, I may be able to help with the measurements you need. Glenn
