State-of-the-art recording!The Austrian Audio CC8 cardioid small-diaphragm true condenser microphone features state-of-the-art technology perfect for modern recording applications, hand-made in Vienna and designed with professionals in mind. Found in the core of the CC8 microphone is the newly-developed OCC7 small-diaphragm condenser capsule.
Influenced by the legendary CK1, the OCC7 offers all the same benefits of the classic design, updated to meet the modern day demands. Shaped by the past and built for the future, the OCC7 capsule and transformerless output gives the CC8 an incredibly linear frequency response, managing extremely high sound pressure levels (SPL) of up to 156 dB, without distorting.

Versatile Recording Options
Perfect MatchingThe CC8 is natural and open sounding without becoming harsh and unpleasant, even at extreme volumes. The mids and highs are a perfect level of clear and smooth, making the CC8 a great microphone for the detailed recording of various acoustic instruments, like stringed instruments, woodwinds and brass, and orchestral percussion.
This microphone also works incredibly well with instruments such as acoustic guitar, piano, snares, hi-hat, and entire drum sets. Before leaving the factory, each microphone is measured to a tolerance of max. +/- 0.5 dB sensitivity at 1 kHz. Meaning that any CC8 can be match-paired with any other, no matter what production date.

OCC7 condenser capsuleThe OCC7 condenser capsule was designed in Vienna and is the heart of Austrian Audio’s small diaphragm microphone series. Influenced by the legendary CK1, the newly developed capsule continues the heritage with the benefits of the classic and modern demands. Shaped by the past and built for the future.
The OCC7 small-diaphragm capsule with true condenser technology, developed and built in Vienna, is the heart of the microphone. The capsule’s three micron thick gold-coated polyethylene naphthalate (pen) diaphragm is much more robust than the usual Mylar alternatives.
Impressive Dynamic Range
Natural SoundThe OCC7 features an impressive linear frequency response. The capsule can withstand extremely high sound pressure levels, together with very low self-noise, resulting in an impressive dynamic range.
With a consistantly natural and open sound, and even at extreme volumes it is neither harsh nor sharp. The mids and highs are always smooth without becoming overemphasised.
