Atomos Shinobi 7 II

Atomos Shinobi 7 II

Big Screen, Serious BrightnessThe Atomos Shinobi 7 II is a 7-inch, ultra-slim HDR camera monitor built for creators who need a daylight-viewable screen with pro exposure and focus tools plus USB‑C camera control. With a class-leading 2,800‑nit peak brightness, it delivers crisp, true-to-life HDR monitoring even in harsh sunlight, while its 1080p touchscreen supports Touch to Focus, EL Zone false colour, waveform/vectorscope, 3D LUT preview and anamorphic de‑squeeze for precise on-set decision-making. Perfect for vloggers, hybrid photographers and indie filmmakers, the Shinobi 7 II combines a bigger 7‑inch display with advanced monitoring in a lightweight, portable design.

Powerful Monitoring

Camera ControlUsing intuitive, on-screen sliders you can adjust white balance, lens aperture, shutter speed/angle and ISO. A red edge display indicates when the camera is recording internally, whether triggered by the camera or from the Shinobi II, 7 II, or 7 RX. Both models can control most Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Panasonic, and Sony mirrorless cameras over USB-C, and all Z CAM E2 series models (LANC cable required, purchased separately).

Touch to FocusTap the Shinobi II, 7 II, or 7 RX touchscreen to have the camera automatically focus on your point of interest. Touch to focus takes advantage of camera focus modes such as focus tracking for effortless control and sharp images. Available with compatible cameras only.

Professional Monitoring Tools

4K Recording

At Your Fingertips All Shinobi models offer a suite of professional monitoring tools, all with simple one-touch operation, for focus, framing, and exposure. Tools include focus peaking, zoom (4:1, 2:1, 1:1), zebra, false colour (ARRI and EL Zone™ colourised exposure modes only available on Shinobi II, 7 II, and 7 RX models), frame guides, SMPTE safe areas, grid markers, waveforms, an RGB parade, vectorscope, multi-view analysis, and flexible 3D/1D LUT support with profile and preset options (including .cube file uploads via SD card). Shinobi II, 7 II, and 7 RX provide anamorphic de-squeeze monitoring (2x, 1.8x, 1.79x, 1.65x, 1.6x, 1.5x, 1.33x, 1.25x) to correct the ratio for anamorphic lens setups.

EL ZoneAll Shinobi monitors, with the exception of Shinobi GO, support EL Zone, a professional false colour exposure tool that helps you see exactly how bright or dark different parts of your image are. Unlike traditional false colour systems that use rough IRE ranges, EL Zone assigns specific colours to exact exposure values—based on stops of light, in the same way your camera sees exposure. It’s a precise and consistent way to expose your image correctly every time.

LUTSAll Shinobi monitors receive LOG signals from the camera and offer real‑time LUT (Look-Up Table) preview to approximate what the final graded image will look like in Rec.709. Custom LUTs (.cube files) can be loaded from an SD card and used in conjunction with the Shinobi’s built‑in monitoring tools for precise exposure control.

Crisp, Bright, True-To-Life Display

High BrightnessBoth Shinobi GO and Shinobi II have a 1500nit screen, which is fine for daylight shooting, although in direct sunlight you may still need a sun hood (purchased separately). Shinobi 7 RX has a 2200nit screen, and Shinobi 7 II has an ultra-bright 2800nit display, both of which are viewable even in bright sunlight.

High Dynamic RangeYou can view 10+ stops of dynamic range from Log/PQ/HLG signals. Shinobi’s unique HDR monitoring features help you simplify the complexities of shooting Log and HDR, because it is possible to replicate post-production workflows when it matters most – while you are shooting.

High FidelityCalibration is the key to a trustworthy monitor. Shinobi II, 7 II, and 7 RX monitors can be calibrated with Calibrite Display Pro HL / Plus HL probe, and using the Atomos Calibrator app, for ongoing accurate HDR and Rec.709 monitoring. Accurate monitoring ensures reliable results.

Every Connection Covered

The Shinobi family offers a choice of video connectivity to suit different cameras, setups and production environments. From a simple on-camera HDMI connection to SDI, signal pass-through and wireless monitoring, there’s a Shinobi designed to fit your workflow.

HDMIBoth Shinobi GO and Shinobi II have a full-size HDMI input port. Shinobi 7 II and Shinobi 7 RX, have HDMI input and output ports, to facilitate video loop-through if required.

USB-CAll Shinobis have a USB-C port, which can either be used to power the device or, in the case of Shinobi II, Shinobi 7 II and Shinobi 7 RX, to control a compatible camera, or connect an external calibration device.

Locking CablesAtomos has developed a unique and rugged locking ecosystem to maintain a secure grip on connected HDMI and USB-C cables. All Shinobi monitors are supplied with a special bracket to facilitate this.

Flexible Power Options
