ASUS XG-C100C Network Add-in-Card, PCIe x4, 1x 10GbE RJ45 Port, Built-in QoS is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cheapist 10GbE card? I installed this in my main PC and connected it to a 10Gb port on my Netgear switch. I then transferred some 20GB files between PC & NAS (on the other 10Gb port) and was impressed by the speed of the progress bar. Writing to an NVMe SSD on the PC, the best speed I got was 4Gb/s. The best speed writing back to the NAS was 3Gb/s. I suspect this is down to the NAS being full of slow WD Reds and the speeds might go up with 7200rpm drives or SSDs. This is still a huge improvement over standard 1Gb/s links so was worth doing. The card does run hot so make sure there's adequate airflow in your case. Also make sure you update the drivers from Asus's or Aquantia's web sites. At the time of writing this is the cheapest 10GbE card available but I expect that to change as other manufacturers react to Aquantia's challenge.

Low-profile bracket?

Hello, I'm looking for a 10GBe card for a 2-U server, this looks like it'll go in but doesn't explicitly mention a low-profile bracket or low-profile compatibility, can you clarify please?
Asked by: IanR
There's a low-profile bracket supplied in the box so I have a strong suspicion it will fit.
