Apple HomePod (2nd Generation) White Smart Home Speaker

Apple HomePod 2nd Generation Smart Speaker

The Apple HomePod 2nd Generation is a premium smart speaker that combines high-fidelity audio, immersive Spatial Audio and intelligent voice control in a compact, elegant design. Featuring a high-excursion woofer, five beamforming tweeters and advanced computational audio, it delivers rich bass, clear vocals and detailed high frequencies, automatically adjusting its sound to suit its surroundings. With support for Dolby Atmos, multi-room audio and stereo pairing, the HomePod is designed to enhance music listening and compatible home cinema setups.

Powered by Siri, the Apple HomePod also serves as a smart home hub, allowing you to control compatible accessories, manage everyday tasks and create automations using your voice. Integrated temperature and humidity sensors, Sound Recognition and seamless integration with Apple devices make it a versatile addition to a connected home.

Immersive High-Fidelity Audio

Experience detailed, room-filling sound with the Apple HomePod 2nd Generation. Its four-inch high-excursion woofer delivers deep bass, supported by five horn-loaded tweeters arranged around the base to reproduce clear vocals and detailed high frequencies. Each tweeter features its own neodymium magnet, while beamforming technology directs sound to create a spacious listening experience. An internal low-frequency calibration microphone also enables automatic bass correction for balanced audio reproduction.

Intelligent Computational Audio

Advanced computational audio continuously analyses the speaker's output to optimise performance in real time. Using system sensing and room-sensing technology, the HomePod adapts its sound to its surroundings, helping maintain clarity and dynamic range wherever it is positioned. Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos adds an immersive, three-dimensional listening experience with compatible music and video content, bringing greater depth and separation to supported audio.

Siri Voice Control and Everyday Assistance

With Siri built in, the HomePod provides hands-free access to everyday assistance through voice commands. Set timers and reminders, send messages, check information, play music or locate a compatible Apple device using your voice. Touch controls on the illuminated top surface provide an alternative way to manage playback, skip tracks, adjust volume and activate Siri.

Intelligent Smart Home Control

Use the HomePod as a smart home hub to manage compatible Apple Home and Matter-enabled accessories. Control connected lighting, adjust compatible thermostats, operate smart blinds and create automations that respond to schedules or conditions. Thread networking technology supports compatible smart home accessories, while the built-in temperature and humidity sensors allow you to monitor indoor conditions and incorporate readings into supported automations.

Sound Recognition and Home Awareness

The HomePod can recognise the sound of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and send notifications to compatible Apple devices when these sounds are detected. Its temperature and humidity sensors provide additional insight into your indoor environment, while Intercom lets you send announcements to other HomePod and HomePod mini speakers around your home. These features extend its functionality beyond audio playback, helping integrate the speaker into everyday home routines. Sound Recognition is intended as an additional notification feature and should not replace dedicated safety equipment.

Seamless Apple Device Integration

Designed to work with the Apple ecosystem, HomePod makes it easy to transfer audio between the speaker and a compatible iPhone using Handoff. AirPlay enables audio streaming from supported Apple devices and apps, while Siri can play content from compatible third-party music services. Pair two HomePod 2nd Generation speakers in the same room for left- and right-channel stereo sound, or combine compatible HomePod speakers across multiple rooms for synchronised multi-room playback. When used with Apple TV 4K, HomePod can also deliver Dolby Atmos audio for a more immersive home cinema experience.

Wireless Connectivity and Compact Design

The Apple HomePod features 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, Thread networking and an Ultra-Wideband chip for supported proximity-based interactions. Measuring 142mm wide and 168mm high, it fits neatly on shelves, desks and other surfaces around the home.

Privacy and Personalisation

Built with privacy in mind, HomePod associates Siri requests with a random identifier rather than your Apple Account. It combines voice recognition, touch controls and integration with the Apple Home app to provide flexible ways to manage your devices and smart home settings. Accessibility features include VoiceOver, Touch Accommodations and Intercom transcriptions, helping more users interact with the speaker.

Compatibility

The Apple HomePod 2nd Generation requires Wi-Fi internet access and an iPhone SE (2nd generation or later), iPhone 8 or later, or a compatible iPad running the latest version of iOS or iPadOS for setup. An Apple Music subscription is required for Apple Music streaming, while subscriptions may also be necessary for other music services. Stereo pairing requires two HomePod speakers of the same generation, and Dolby Atmos home cinema playback requires a compatible Apple TV 4K and supported content.
