Fender’s Precision (often shortened to P-Bass) was originally created by the legendary Leo Fender in 1950 as an electric, lightweight alternative to the large double-basses of the time. Whilst it’s true that the Precision has undergone some modernisation across its long life-span, since 1957 it has largely remained the standard for over 60 years and continues to be the go-to bass for bassists from all backgrounds and playing styles.

PICKUPV-Mod II Precision Bass pickups are modified versions of classic vintage Fender pickup designs. Packed with the fundamental Fender bass sound you know and love, these split-coil pickups deliver the vintage warmth, punch and clarity that made Fender a legend.
NEW SCULPTED
NECK HEELThe rounded neck heel and beveled neck-plate improves access towards the higher fret register and make leads easy and comfortable.
HIMASS VINTAGE
BRIDGEThis precision manufactured string-through or top load bridge adds sustain, resonance and enhanced attack thanks to a cold-rolled steel baseplate, high mass brass backstop, and chrome-plated brass saddles.
’63 P BASS
NECK PROFILEConsidered as one of the gold standard of bass neck profiles, American Professional II Precision Bass guitars feature the ‘63 P Bass neck profile. The Super-Natural satin finish on the back of the neck provides a smooth fret-hand feel, made better by rounded fingerboard edges.
TAPERED-SHAFT
TUNING MACHINESWider at the top and slimmer the bottom, the tapered shafts force the string windings downward, keeping them tight and resulting in a sharper and consistent break angle over the nut, creating increased sustain and better tuning stability.
POSIFLEX
GRAPHITE RODSAll American Professional bass necks use Posiflex graphite rods to reinforce against movement that can occur with climate changes. Embedded beneath the fingerboard, they improve reliability on the road, in the studio or in your home.
