Product Overview

Upper-End Open Loop CPU Cooling

With the Core 1, Alphacool introduces a new generation of CPU water blocks developed for the increasing thermal demands of modern desktop processors. As CPU power density continues to rise, effective heat transfer at the cold plate becomes critical. The Core 1 addresses this with a completely redesigned 3D jet plate, a flow-control concept derived from industrial cooling applications. Combined with an all-metal construction and a simplified mounting system, the Core 1 delivers both high thermal performance and straightforward installation.

Aurora aRGB lighting

Aurora variants of the Core 1 are equipped with an integrated 3-pin 5 V aRGB connection. The lighting is softly diffused across the top of the block, creating an even, uniform glow that complements the Core series design language. The result is controlled, understated illumination that enhances the block’s appearance without overpowering its all-metal construction.

The Best of Both Worlds

The Core 1 combines new internal flow technology with a proven base structure. The 3D jet plate focuses coolant directly onto the hottest areas of the CPU, while Alphacool’s established cross-slot design ensures even distribution across the enlarged cold plate. Internal O-rings precisely guide coolant through the fin structure, maintaining consistent flow paths and efficient heat transfer. The housing is milled from a solid brass block and paired with nickel-plated fittings, while the nickel-plated copper base has been expanded to fully cover larger CPU heat spreaders.

Modern, Compatible Mounting

The mounting hardware has been redesigned for faster, cleaner installation. Compared to earlier Alphacool CPU blocks, the Core 1 uses fewer components and screws. Installation begins with pre-assembling the Intel backplate using four standoffs. After applying thermal paste, the appropriate mounting frame is attached to the cooler and secured with four nuts. The result is a stable, repeatable mounting process with reduced assembly time.

Smooth, Rounded Aesthetic

A restrained, functional aesthetic defines the Core series. The solid brass housing features nickel-plated connectors, subtle contour lines, and softly rounded edges for a refined finish. The Core 1 is available in multiple colour variants, including aRGB Aurora versions that add understated illumination without overwhelming the design.

Please Note: Alphacool reccommend clear, transparent water-cooling fluids. Pastel coolants contain particles and additives that can clog or permanently damage components such as radiators, pumps, coolers, and hoses. Use of such fluids may also void the manufacturer’s warranty.

Watercooling
Date Issued: 19th Jun 2008

Watercooling for the PC has been around for years in some form or another, for at least as long as Scan have been in business, with basic physics defining why you want to use it. That means for air cooling, to cope with increasing temperature in the heatsink you need to move the air across it faster. That is why thermostatically controlled fans in your PC will turn faster the hotter something gets.
